Points

It's my understanding that if you have 100 or less points and enter a game.And are defeated your points are refunded?What happens if you have more then 100 and wager all points in one game and are defeated.Are all points refunded or are you now at 0 and the account is basically dead.Encouraging said player to set up a new account.

Euthanasia- Right or Wrong?

I believe if we are HUMANE, it's the only right thing to do.
After all, we don't expect animals to suffer, and expect sentient beings to??
Sounds Neanderthal or full of religion to me(Christians!!!! grrrr)

H1N1/AVIAN FLU?

Not much in news about where I live in Canada lately.Overblown by "WHO" or goverment?I ask since many of you are spread around the globe.What steps where taken where you live education,prevention?Do you fear contraction?Know anyone who has?Is it still in news where you are?

As far as I'm concerned the whole H1N1 deal was blown WAY out of proportion, mostly so that pharmaceutical companies could make a killing off of vaccines. In the end, if you look hard enough, almost everything the media says is designed to make some industry or group of people alot of money. It's just the way it works. And guess what, there was even a Polish company (I may be wrong on this though) that created vaccines for H1N1 and then laced them with the bird flu, which would have actually created a larger scale epidemic, making them even more money.

So, although I do believe that the virus exists/did exist and that it posed a moderate threat to us, it was definitely blown way out of proportion by the media so that the pharmaceutical industry could make a killing. It was probably a favor Obama owed them for some reason or another.

I'm in the northeastern US btw.

As far as I know, here in the UK, Swine Flu and Avian Flu have largely blown over. No one seems worried about them any more. I know a small number of people who contracted Swine Flu but I didn't catch it. There's still an anti-flu government advertising campaign but that's kind of expanded to just be general anti-disease, rather than Swine Flu only.

IIRC, the mortality rate for H1N1 in the US was about .2%, but that's 5 times higher than a normal flu.

Personally, I'm glad governments would rather have millions of annoyed people than millions of dead people.

Swine flu was a fairly large concern where I live (San Diego, so right next to Mexico) because it was fairly widespread in Mexico. I got the vaccine because I have asthma and am therefore top priority for all flu vaccines, but I still think it was more hyped than it needed to be.

I've had a few friends who've caught it, hell, I think i caught it myself.

Nothing to really worry about unless you're in a third world country.

Over blown or did the actions taken work? By giving vaccines to a large percentage of the pop you decrease the spread to even to the unvaccinated. If you look at the genetic markers of the 1918 virius compared to the current swine flu the difference is very small, so the threat is very real. So do not fall prey to theories of conspiracies.

I got it. It was kinda blah. Sit at home a couple days, feel sore and dreary. Then you go back to your normal life. How many deaths were/are there? I haven't heard a number, so it must not have been too bad.

It's laying low at least for now. Many new flu strains make a come back the next year, sometimes with a vengeance. I do think we missed the bullet on this though, perhaps because of the vaccines.

I think I got it, too. Not too bad.

IMHO, I think the biggest damage it caused was all the pigs that were slaughtered for no reason because people were scared that it had "swine" in the name.

Why worship God?

Apologies in advance for rasing the subject of religion once again, but as I find myself amongst a group of intelligent people who have given serious thought to questions of this nature I can't stop myself from asking a question that's been bugging me for some time. Let us assume for a moment there is indeed a God who created the universe and continues to exist. What is the reason for us to worship Him? His universe seems to continue on in much the same way whether He is worshiped or not.

This is by far the best England I have seen. He screws up his first year and then I decide to attack him and he holds on the entire game and even manages to beat me back a notch. Really top notch playing

Cricket vs. Baseball

Alright, then, I wanted to talk some baseball, but everyone seems to be shooting that down... and I've always wanted to know what that OTHER bat-and-ball sport is like. Certainly it can never be as great as baseball? Or is it? Better? Worse? Who likes what/ How is Cricket even played? ;) Americans, Latins, and Asians take the field against the English, Indians, and Empires... It's Baseball vs. Cricket- culturally and fun factor, which is best?

Language barriers?

We've got people from all over the world on this site, and while there are a number of games played in other languages, the vast majority are played in English. Anyone run into amusing or interesting situations as a result of miscommunication or linguistic confusion?
