6 player variant . which map...?
Hi,
just finishing my work on the colonial map. What map should I do next? It needs to be a well tested 6-player-map, as one of my friends might not be able to play in our next game.

Possible New Statistic?
We have many statistics that are interesting, but there is one missing that I would like to see. Much as there are the total points earned from all the games played, I would like to see the total SCs collected from the games as well. I think the average of the total number of SCs against the number of games played might be a better measure of a player's skill than points. It is still a subjective figure, but I do think it would be interesting.

I thought units could switch places in the even that one of the units is being convoyed!
If that is the case... why did this move fail?

Seven Captains, Tea, Coffee- and a Dispute over Bulgaria
In this latest installment of "what nerdy scenario will obiwanobiwan throw out there as he's not in the mood to type his Philosphy paper" we have the immortal question:

If Captains Kirk (Shatner/Pine), Picard, Sisko, Janeway, Archer, Spock, and Riker all sat down for a game of Diplomacy- who'd place where?

Ankaran Crescent
There was some demand for a game of Ankaran Crescent (OK... It was started by me) so I'm going to create one.

Everyone knows that we start in Switzerland, so I guess my first move will be to the Syria. I submit my math below:

i will move to Rurh
is this valid?
ParanoidFreak (100 D)

But didn't the '82 case of Dickerson v. Patrominov overrule the Fete de Loup arrangement, famously stating ''An opening is solely based on the actual retail price of armpit hair-trimmers; with that value having steeply declined over the past two years, simultaneous openings are the better option for Asia's economic power'' ?
LeoDaVinci (170 D)

I'll invoke the Rio Grande Decorum (1999, section B, rule 3a) of the American map variant and use the loophole in the Asian economic power due to the fact that they lack iron ore, and sail a fleet up the Seine and into PAR. Plus I can defend both French coasts from there.
YadHoGrojaUL (330 D)
10 Oct 09 UTC
Using Inverarity's law of series-parallel variants with multiple variability, I'll invoke the Eriadorean Deluge simulacrum of 1974 (Third Age) and move a fleet to Moria (west coast).
ParanoidFreak (100 D)
10 Oct 09 UTC
Alright, alright, I'll just move my arse to Liverpool, invoking the digital research act of 1997, paragraph 35, clause b.
rlumley (0 DX)
10 Oct 09 UTC
Classic rookie mistake. By the opposite corners clause of the Norway Convention, I can now move to Ankaran Crescent.

Good game guys. Care for another?
Rommeltastic (1126 D(B))
10 Oct 09 UTC
Ok. I'll start. Since this is in October, the Cossack terminology dictated in 1985, I'm able to make my first move to Moscow.
MercuryEnigma (517 D)
10 Oct 09 UTC
I'll move to Paris, because of the Franco-Russian Alliance Rule.
Rommeltastic (1126 D(B))
10 Oct 09 UTC
Fortunetly, I planned ahead. You fell into my trap. I'm going to convoy myself down the seine river into the English channel! (I think that's what the "in-sane" ruling means. Could someone correct me if I'm wrong?)
Le_Roi (913 D)
10 Oct 09 UTC
A new player appears!
I think I'll employ the 1956 errata'd rule, and start a war down in Berlin. Of course, the British, due to their Anglo-Saxon alliance, are required to send that unit down to Silesia.
ParanoidFreak (100 D)
10 Oct 09 UTC
I'll employ the terms of the Austria-Turkish demilitarization plan of 1982 to good effect, and move to Vienna.
Rommeltastic (1126 D(B))
10 Oct 09 UTC
Oh, but you see, That leaves the previously unknown territory of Iceland open, as the Austrians are now all watching opera. I move to Norway, putting me close enough to grab Iceland next turn!
ParanoidFreak (100 D)
11 Oct 09 UTC
Yes, but you forgot the league of northern nations from 1986 outlaws any Norwegian units to move to Iceland. I'll use the international air-transport addendum to the obscure 1987 rulebook, and land at the airport in Constantinople, the same rulebook allowing any and all Canadians to use anachronistic transport methods.
denis (864 D)

is this a joke
ParanoidFreak (100 D)
11 Oct 09 UTC
There used to be a joke at the end of the Ankaran Crescent legalisation document of 1843, unfortunately it was so bad a Russian ambassador had to be hospitalized.
denis (864 D)
11 Oct 09 UTC
oh I invoke ruling 666 at the convetion of 2012 that i can destroy jerusalem with my army in Iran
Rommeltastic (1126 D(B))
11 Oct 09 UTC
Too bad that you left Ankara open!!!!

I move to Canada, eh?
MercuryEnigma (517 D)
11 Oct 09 UTC
That is rather silly. Well, considering the Race for the Arctic Circle, I move to Greenland.
Le_Roi (913 D)
11 Oct 09 UTC
If one might take into consideration the claiming of Greenland by Denmark, as stated by the 1979 Convention of Countries, that unit is consequently packaged into multiple pieces, sold as chocolate, and later sent to Spain.
Rommeltastic (1126 D(B))
11 Oct 09 UTC
Well, since I'm in spain, I'm just going to have to move to Rome. (See the Mediteranean pact of neutrality for more details on this ruling.)
Maniac (189 D(B))
11 Oct 09 UTC
Tuscany, I know it's a safe move and not my usual style, but hey I need to be less predictive sometimes.
ParanoidFreak (100 D)
12 Oct 09 UTC
Hmmm... I'll use the ''I win'' rule of 1985 to back up my move to Ankara crescent...
MercuryEnigma (517 D)
12 Oct 09 UTC
ParanoidFreak, that rule was removed in the Warsaw Conference of 1999. So, that move is invalid. From Tuscany, I shall invoke the Munich Conference connecting Italy and Germany, thus moving to Munich.
Draugnar (0 DX)
12 Oct 09 UTC
I invoke the Separation of Powers act added to the 1992 rules that states "No unit may enter the SC of a state previously allied with it without first entering a non-SC territory of that state." Italy and Germany were allies so a direct move to Munich from an Italian territory is disallowed.

Using the French Resistance I move from Burgundy to Munich behind the forcibly vacated Italian unit.
Le_Roi (913 D)
12 Oct 09 UTC
Due to the lack of speed limits in rural (or any part of) Germany, I smoke down the roads, invoking the Free Oil Treatise of 1933, to resupply my units when needed, ending up in Budapest.
Rommeltastic (1126 D(B))
12 Oct 09 UTC
Wow. I can't believe you made this mistake, Le_Roi!
Budapest to Ankara Crescent.
Good game guys!

Are the Broncos better than the Patriots?
Sometimes. A better question, is are the broncos better than the patriots when Tom Brady is the Patriots' QB? Undoubtedly yes. Denver has gone 5-0 and will continue to win. The pats may have had a chance if Brady could complete a pass or two against our D.
