Legit if...If you are a small power at risk of being squeezed out by non-dominant power, then your only bargaining power is the threat to throw game to the leader. If sqeezer can't handle the risk it is a sign that the small player is big enough to earn a place in the draw.

If I'm going to be eliminated I will try to throw the game as a means of staying in the draw.

Gods yes. Why do you do that Valis? I still haven't entirely forgiven you for going berserk and throw a perfectly obtainable draw in one of our games. Humph.

A player once pissed me off so much I gave a solo to Valis just to annoy the person.

That's fine by me. It's a strategy to force the others to include them in the draw to stop a solo.

There's a fine line though for me. I've seen many people throw games for personal reasons of basically throwing temper tantrums for things not going their way. If throwing the game is a diplomatic ploy to try and force yourself into a draw, then I think it's okay, but if you are throwing it just to be a bad sport then I have an issue with it.

Always attempt to throw the game if you are about to lose, it can only possibly help you.

Throwing the game to another when you are probably going to be defeated is legit, particularly if part of that is attacking those that have wronged you. After all, you may want to send a message that attacking/stabbing you will result in both your loss and the a loss for the attacker/stabber - that's actually a smart message to send for the next game.

When you are about to be defeated, and you attack those that have helped you or done nothing to you, and in throwing the game you benefit those that attacked you, you should get your head checked - you are basically sending a message to others in future games that you are great player to attack, because you may actually help the attacker in response. I have less than complimentary things to say about players that do this.

Throwing the game to help another player solo when you are currently part of a draw is irrational and is pretty petty. This sounds like your situation @Thane, and that's pretty messed up. Such tactics probably harm a player's reputation in future games as well, so also a bad choice for that reason.

Summarising. It's legitimate as long it serves you to be a part of a potential draw OR if it penalises some other player for his bad behaviour, in which case you send a signal that this kind of behalf will be punished again in other following games.

My actions have demonstrated my willingness to react in extraordinary and inconsistent ways, particularly when players I would have supported to a WIN, get impatient, selfish and betray me..fine then, have a completely devalued win and my enduring contempt
