0 outrage? Do you need me to dig up some old articles from 2008? The Democratic primary results don't receive the same scrutiny as the presidential election but there were definitely annoyed people.

The Republicans have a long history of blocking legislation with bipartisan support so Democrats can't improve the country. Obamacare was based on the Republican health plan.

@orathaic: it was definitely the case that had all the votes been included Obama might have narrowly beaten Hillary in the popular vote. Of course it could easily have still been a Clinton victory. In the end, the popular vote is mostly disregarded. Not only are there super delegates but take a look at Texas where Clinton won by 100,000 votes but still got less pledged delegates:

As for the original topic, its another case of republicans being terrible people. I don't know the exact reason they blocked this but it's probably along the lines of them not wanting the democrats to get a victory and/or their backers not wanting the legislation to pass. There's no defense for it hence leon's responses.
