Deinodon is correct. The hosting button isn't prominent, because we're covered for hosting for the next few years (I think- I don't have access to the account).

The money is only used to rent the servers that webdip runs on (and other hosting costs, like domain name registration).

If the coffers ever run down, Kestas will do a donation drive.

Having said that, donations are always appreciated! Every donation means that we have longer before we need to do the next donation drive.

Does anyone play eve online?

They have a subscription service, (€13 per month or similar) and an ingame item which you can buy on the market (for varying prices depending on supply vs demand) called PLEX (a Piloting License EXtension) which can also give you a months game time.

They also also have a 'PLEX for Good' scheme, where people donate PLEX to charity - at least once a year, people either buy plex directly from the company and donate it to the Haitian earthquake relief (Icelandic Red Cross) or they play the game enough to buy a PLEX in-game and donate that...

Great way to turn donations into good for the community. (And i suppose take PLEX out of the market... Hmm)

Abge, i can tell you, i've never needed a spreadsheet when playing Eve, and i've never had a game which gives me such an adrenaline rush.

Of course it is a heavily social game, where if you can make the right friends ( who do the spreadsheet work for you... Or all the other hard things if you're too lazy to do it yourself)

Nothing quite like the adrenaline rush of being stuck in Jita for 3 days undocking : )

We're actually looking for donations to fund the upcoming 2015 Mod Retreat. We need enough money to cover flights for all moderators to Hawaii as well as individual hotel rooms (because nobody wants to share with ghug). Dig deep, folks.

EVE is the single best game I've ever played - but I now reside in bitter-vet-dom having paid my dues over 8 years. How many other games even come close to holding that kind of attention?

At its peak I probably had to play about 30-40 hours per week to keep the alliance and corp machinery running - but it was fun as all heck (with a smattering of Excel I do admit but that was meta - not game play).

Hawaii, 2WL? I thought we wanted to go to the Cayman Islands; so that we can set up some top of the range new bank accounts at the same time; and move the servers there for far lower costs.

my buddy has a PHAT house you can rent if you go to the Caymans. HR, you might even get laid there....LOL
