Player A occupies Tyrolia, Vienna, Budapest, Galicia, and Rumania.

Player B occupies Munich, Bohemia, Silesia, Warsaw, Ukraine, and Sevastopol.

If Player B enters as moves:

Munich support holds Bohemia
Bohemia moves to Vienna
Silesia moves to Galicia
Warsaw supports move to Galicia from Silesia

Then no matter what, given these moves, Player A cannot use Galicia to cut Ukraine's ability to support Sevastopol? Am I correct? In other words, this is a perfect stalemate?

I think you have something confused here - Doesn't player A have Gal?

Well a few things:

1. Cool name.

2. A support hold only works if the unit being supported is HOLDING, so Munich's move wouldn't have any effect at all.

3. Galicia would still be able to cut Ukraine's support. A unit can cut any support even if it is dislodged, unless the unit it is attacking is attacking it or supporting an attack on it.

These two moves don't work together. You can't support hold a unit that is moving, so the support is void.

Also, Gal->Ukr would cut any supports that Ukr was making, even if Gal is dislodged. Support is cut whenever the supporting unit is attacked, regardless of the result of the attack.

The moves you are describing will not work in concert. For example Munich supporting Bohemia to hold fails if you attempt to move from Bohemia rather than holding or supporting another unit. Also the only way to prevent a unit from cutting support on territory X is to dislodge that unit FROM territory X. An attack on a space always cuts support by that space unless the attacking unit is dislodged. The moves you have entered will dislodge Galicia from Silesia If Galicia attacks Ukraine and player A does not have two other units attacking Gal with a support, but if Gal attacks Ukraine it will cut the potential support hold of Sev by Ukr prior to being dislodged.

Why is Munich SH Boh when Boh is moving?? Bohemia could be broken by Vie S Tyr-Boh.
Similarly Galicia could cut Ukraine's support without losing Galicia by moving Bud S Vie-Galicia (2v2 bounce) - This is critical and when I started off, I didn't understand this for the longest time.
Or Player A could cut support Gal-Ukr and lose Galicia in the process but get Sevastopol.
So Moscow needs to hold Sevas.
If the opponent has Black and Aremenia also, then Sevas can't even be protected.


Also, You don't need Bohemia for the line. You don't need Sevas either actually.
Ukraine-Warsaw-Silesia-Mun-Berlin-Kiel is enough.

Google the stalemate lines and pore over them :) It helps.
