What's been up with the timers lately?

They've been really off. I just had it go from "1 minute, 5 seconds" to "Now" in less than 20 seconds, and when it does get to "Now" it takes like 30 seconds to roll over... Not just on my home computer, either.

Hello, guys, it's me, Vash. Anyway, lately I've joined my college's debate team and I want to write-up some cases. Unfortunately, I've come up with a bad case of writer's block and a lack of inspiration. As such, I'm wondering if there are any topics you would like me write up a case about. My league follows the ADPA set of rules and cases can be anything from policy debate (free health care, upgrading homeless people to mobile hotspots), to historical decisions (Harry Truman should not have dropped the bombed) to even fictional universes (though it is best to shy away from them). So, webdippers, what do you want me to debate about?
P.S
I suggest you give me topics and possibly stance, but try to shy away from the actual arguments, It's best I come up with them myself.

That case is a little spec (specific, kind of obvious abbrv.). Btw, too close, ALWAYS too close.

Here are some things that may be of actual interest:

1) Open Access Journals: Do they allow people cheap access to high-quality publications,or do they encourage journals to produce low-quality papers?

2) MOOCS: Will they revolutionize higher education or will there always be a place for classic brick-and-mortar universities?

3) Computer Jobs: Have computers created or destroyed more jobs?

I can elaborate on any of these further if they are of interest to you.

Just read up on spec. knowl. rules and derail everything by claiming it's too tight.

My suggestion is THW abolish life sentences with no parole.

Open Access Journals is interesting, but I would rather argue something else. After a quick search more on MOOCS would be could, and I think I can address Computer Jobs more generally with automation.

@pangloss: Interesting, how much experience do you have with ADPA (or BP) debate?

I run into APDA debaters when they come up north for tournaments. And I hear stories about Yale IV and Worlds. That's about it, really.

As for BP, well, I dabble a bit in university debate.

I've seen a case run on open access journals. It's just tight enough to win without being too tight.

I've never seen a round about the Internet that ever went well, though. Be prepared for derailment.

Need help with England strategy

I fucking suck at England. It's my biggest weakness in Diplomacy. I usually get Norway and then just kind of putz around until I get fucked by France or Germany...

Server Problem - Game Processing Stopped?

My games seem to have been temporarily suspended from processing...Been getting this message for the last 6-7 hours:
"The last process time was over 12 minutes ago (at 10:33 AM); the server is not processing games until the cause is found and games are given extra time."
Whats the problem?

3 game meta game series

i'm comsidering trying to start a series of games in which you are allowed to meta game (specifically help someone in one game, or stab someone in one game becuase of the actions or deals made in another. This would be an srs. Would this be allowed, also, would there be any people interested?

In all honesty, I do not think that there is any justifiable reason to quench the Bible Verse thread of Majus - everyone has a right to expression. Other than, being a short step from advertisement spamming.

36 hour, non-anon game with friends.

I Need A Diplomacy Clock!

Things are looking good for the tournament tomorrow, but I've misplaced my tournament clock. If anyone knows of a good place to download a clock for keeping track of phases, that would be a great help. Thanks!

Profile Comment and banned players

To an outside observer, when a user is banned, it looks like the banned user's Profile Comment is deleted. The recent wave of bans got me thinking: wouldn't it be better to keep the comment stored somewhere in case the player were ever unbanned?

24 Hour GB WTA 7 game Series

Alright, who is in and what do you guys want as the buy-in? I'm proposing 7 games, no country reshuffling, WTA, 24 hr phase gunboat, ready up as much as possible. I'll stagger the scheduled start dates by a day, but if everyone is ready to go and wants to start then just join early.

Multiple multi-user accusations

This may only be a recent coincidence, but I've been accused of being a multi-user in a couple of my past games by enemies on the board, and having 'neutrals' just assume I am one because somebody said I was.
I don't know why this is happening; I'm not that good. AOE notice this phenomenon?
