So I've never played a gunboat game before, and it seems like a lot of the people on this site are experienced gunboaters or generally stay away from it, so it's a bit intimidating trying to start. So my idea was to do a newbie-friendly gunboat game of brand-new or relatively new gunboat players. Obviously there's no real way to tell, it'd be on the honor system.

So the game would be:
Classic map
24-hour phase time (I don't have time for a live game right now)
No press, anonymous players
People with little to no experience with gunboat games

Anyone interested post here. If we get enough folks on board, I'll probably make it a private game with the password PM'd to the players. We'll see how the response is first.

I've had a little experience, but I would definitely put myself in too intimidated to really play camp, and would love to play if you would have me. I'd been thinking of starting such a game myself.

You may want to ask the participants of the soon-to-be-cancelled Gunboat SOW game. I know most of them will probably want another game.

SD -- are you really a newb or are you trying to take candy from babies here? I always think of you as a really good player.

SD has way more press games on his resume than gunboat games.

I play quite a lot of fairly high standard full press games, and joining a newb one of that would be unfair, but as for gunboat I played in a guboat SOW (under the excellent tutelage of 2wl), and i think 2 live games a while ago? I'm unranked in march's gunboat ghost rankings, and have an all time ranking of 2037 for gunboat. compared to 51st for overall gr in march and 135 all time i definitely count myself as a 'newb' for gunboat! That said if rs2excelsior wants to exclude me from this he/she is more than welcome to.

I am new to the game and would like to try it out. Count me in if you need another.

I might like to join too. I'd played one or two GB games before joining the tournament. Of those seven, I'm either eliminated, getting smacked around or barely hanging on. Maybe not as new as you'd like but I make up for it with terribleness

they aren't, but I think that normally it is assmued.
