For my two cents, I've only played SD once, in a press game. PE's synopsis of his play style seems to match the impression he's left with me. He's found a tactic that works for him, and doesn't have a huge amount of flexibility when things don't go right.

When this happened in our press game, he just got rude and abusive with everybody, so we all of course enjoyed killing him. One can only assume that the equivalent of this in a gunboat is to hurl oneself blindly at the rival who has been perceived as being responsible for his downfall.

Three pages of comments about someone's tactic and even a single word concretely about what England did in that game,just a bunch of a jelous players like Lopt,PE an YJ who suck at Diplomacy Game but they are champions in insulting and whining publicly about a player who has attacked them in a game instead of attacking somebody else and help them to win a game.

In the year '02 France was facing two German armies contesting Belgium and he had three units to take it but he has decided to order a single attack from Burgundy (and I wondered at the time how he knew Germany would have holded with Holland and Ruhr?!?) and he convoyed Picardy to Walles and came with another fleet to the Irish Sea. He was so fucking briliant and I wonder what would these three dickheads have done to not "ruin the game".

Half as many resigns in 60+ fewer attempts.

Now, to review the game itself. France opened neutrally and didn't do anything to indicate being "pro-English," although considering you seem to think bouncing Holland is a neutral act I'm not surprised that your concept of what's pro-/anti-/neutral to a power is a bit warped. Russia built in St. Petersburg because you put an army in Norway. That's an entirely reasonable decision. The fleet in Brest was *much* more anti-English than an army in St. Petersburg; the comparable hostile build is F StP(nc). Russia further indicated in S02 his peaceful intent by support holding your armies. Meanwhile, Germany went to North Sea and France took the English Channel and set up a convoy.

What you should have done is recognized the well-known fact that A StP is a neutral build and F Bre is not, and turned to face France.

And if you can't figure out why Germany didn't go after France, you're as dense as we thought. You bounced Holland. That's an act of war against Germany. Of COURSE Germany isn't going to harass France in Burgundy, ESPECIALLY when he sees France going after you. Just because you seem to think attacking everyone and getting horribly overextended is a good way to play Diplomacy doesn't mean everyone else is.

and held out against France. Since Germany built an army in Kiel, he clearly didn't really want to bother you. France was your threat and you blew it, big-time.

Although just for the record, I'm not gonna claim I would have beaten Sargmacher. He's a monster. It's far from certain that I would have won that, and even if I'd not made a fool of myself like the English player here I dunno that I could have beaten him. He's good.

I was England you were Italy and we didn't ever go up against each-other once. I just remember you acting like a spoiled child when you finally realized you were up against a WT and when I told you I was sorry to see your situation you got nasty fast. It actually was kinda funny because I was already considering stabbing G (which I did a turn later) and genuinely did want to establish a rapport with you in case France backed him up (which he did).

I am starting to think that people like assmarcher, jmeyersd, and Barn3tt have secretly hacked our computer and/or house so that they can take a look at our computer screen, print screen shots, and adapt their gunboat moves accordingly. It's unfair how they always know what to do best, how they constantly win/draw, and how they are so nice to each other. As for what happened to the 150cc club. Someone else started a club at the same time I was trying to get it going again. I decided it wasn't worth the effort competing with someone else for players.
