Longest game.
What is the longest game that you have played in? I just finished a good one that lasted until 1919. All of my other games were finished by 1912. I was Austria and I came in second. There were multiple stabs and I lost each of my home centers at least once. http://www.webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=24687

Are there any other good long games

For Exampel

Is there really a wall in Berlin and is that wall still there ?
Do all germans live in Bavaria ?
Is Adolf Hitler still alive ?
TAWZ (0 DX)
11 May 10 UTC
The wall was really in Berlin.
The wall devided Germany and East - Germany.
The Berliner Wall isn't there anymore.
It's gone.

No. Not all Germans live in Bavaria.
Germany is devided in Staates like the USA.
U have Arizona,Texas,Iowa , and 47 more.
We have Bavaria, Berlin, Bremen, Hamburg and 12 more.
And no. Not all of us are living from Beer, Sauerkraut and Weisswurst.

No Adolf Hitler is not alive.
He comited suicide 1945

Of course you don't all live on Sauerkraut. That's what Spaetzle and Kartofflesalat is for. Just kidding. Love Kartoffelsalat, hate Spaetzle.

do the Hun still threaten Constantinople?
Do all Germans think we're stupid? Or just TAWZ?

Were you serious about those questions TAWZ?

Regarding the Berlin Wall, while most of the players on this site probably don't remember the Wall coming down, I'm thinking they probably have heard about it. This tends to be a well-educated bunch that enjoys this game.

ok, I'll do one for Australia, word up people:)
1.Do all Australians have a pet kangaroo?
2. Are most Australians crocodile hunters?
3. Are koalas riddle with koala syphilis, doped on eucalyptus and sleep 80% of the time ?

1.no but there are a lot of them in the countryside
2.dont be silly
3.yes
America:
1) Cars up on blocks in your front lawn is indeed a status symbol
2) Europeans have difficulty learning English because it is the hardest language to master
3) There is no need to learn about the rest of the world, since everyone wants to live in America
4) We have only 2 political parties because we don't believe in nuance

Ok, well, maybe number 4 is true.

Excuse me ? I do not think that u are stupid. I never said that.
These questions has been asked.
Yes the germans still pay a Tax for the Church.
But i don't know about huns infront of Constatinopel.

"Regarding the Berlin Wall, while most of the players on this site probably don't remember the Wall coming down, I'm thinking they probably have heard about it. This tends to be a well-educated bunch that enjoys this game." - most of us weren't alive!

@American List: 2 is true, many people say English is the hardest language. Saying that, most Europeans learn it through school.

@sean: 1 aww :(

@ora/Tawz: Haha, I love the idea of there still being a crowd of marauding horde of Huns in Istanbul which no-ones noticed.

Just a quick side note to TAWZ, the Berlin wall didn't separate Germany and East Germany. It separated the Western allied (France, Britain, US) city of West Berlin from the rest of East Germany. The actual dividing line of Germany and East Germany was much further west. I know it's nit-picking, but we Germans should definitely not give anyone any fuel to add to the fire yes?

I might as well do one for Wisconsinites:

1. Is the place filled with cheese and cows?
2. Do you all orgasm when the Packers win?
3. You all sound like the mom from That 70s Show, right?
4. Cow-tipping is your idea of fun?

1. Well there are lots of dairy cows, and we have excellent cheese. But in the countryside. Wisconsin also has Milwaukee, one of America's biggest industrial towns which also has symphonies, fascinating little restaurants, and culture (although most of this culture takes the form of beer and brandy). And Madison, which has one of the best universities in the world, with culture to match. All the good bands tour there.

2. Yes.

3. Mostly, but some of us sound more like Da Super Fans.

4. Never been, since I live in the city and never see cows.

Serious question for TAWZ (or anyone else that can answer.) I've heard, and seen pictures, that the toilets in Germany have this odd bump in the middle that the poop lands on instead of going in the water. Is this true, and if so, why? Seems like it would be messy to me. Do any other countries have this as well?
TAWZ (0 DX)
11 May 10 UTC
lol...u are right.
i the past they produce that. cause i dont no....might be if u need a poop sampel for the doc or so...but since years they changed that.
the old stuff called Hochspühler...means highflusher or so the newer are Tiefspühler...deep flusher....
But have u seen the Toilets in France ???
lol....take a look inthe internet and search for that

@Alderian The idea of the "bump" in the toilets is that the poop does not fall directly into the water, causing water to splash up and get you wet... However both "designs" are common in Germany.
TAWZ (0 DX)
11 May 10 UTC
@ zarat
u right that might be a reason
zarat (896 D)

60% of Germans are officially Christians and therefore pay Kirchensteuer. If they resigned from Church they wouldn't have to pay it any more. Fortunately the number of people dropping out is increasing.

I should add that the approx. 100.000 Jews in Germany pay a similar tax to the Central Council of Jews in Germany.
I for one hate it when my poop splashed my butt.... Even worse in a public toilet... who knows whose germs you are getting then. Its nice when they are really long and they slide into the water without a splash, like a perfect dive in the Olympic. Give it a 10! But when you have rabbit poop, its terrible.

toilets, the ONLY thing i didnt love about paris actually(everything else was great).
In japan the toliets in some places play music/birds chirping coz the ladies dont want to hear the noises their bodies might make. some of the fancier ones have 2 water jets(one for the ladies, one for everyone, different angles!) and hot air blower to dry yourself, it really is quite nice, after that its hard to go back to rough paper to wipe my arse, whats up with that!?

well in most countries, males are happy to use urnials, or stalls, and not wash on exit, but happily open doors, touch things and god forbid!! shake hands or touch food... how disgusting is THAT?

Don't knock the french- after all... they wash their foreskins lol

Not sure what kind of press there was in the national or international media (and most of the people on this site are too young to remember), but I was in the Philadelphia media market at the time, and it was HUGE.
