Longest game.
What is the longest game that you have played in? I just finished a good one that lasted until 1919. All of my other games were finished by 1912. I was Austria and I came in second. There were multiple stabs and I lost each of my home centers at least once. http://www.webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=24687

Are there any other good long games

Going into my profile and clicking search and then sorting by "Turn (in-game date) (Oldest->Youngest) shows that the longest game I've been in ended in 1919. But I joined that game near the end.

The next longest was 1918 but I was eliminated a few years before the end. The longest I was in from the start until the end were a couple ending in Spring, 1917.

There's some epics from the Leagues before, going into 1930s. Some games on the server are long due to all-holds as an alternative to pauses.

(pause wasn't always a feature)

Le Roi - you play with Bob an awful lot. Is he a good bud?
Troodonte, I just looked through that whole game… That's a great game you guys had there. Some great playing too.

@Parallelopiped - I know him in RL, but that doesn't get in the way of diplomacy. He constantly shouts at me for various stabs (i.e. stabs in the past. He holds grudges like you wouldn't believe)

@idealist - We wanted to have the longest game evar. Or at least survive the apocalypse of 2012 (see the thread a while back =/)

In a game right now 1923 could be another couple years before it ends.

I played one that ended in 1933. I think everyone but France and Turkey were ahead at some point.

Off the top of my head, a live game, 5 min. phases, that went from 2000 to the end of 2012, the World variation...

It was live, but it felt like a LONG, LONG time... 5+ hours straight connected to a computer screen...

As for placing, we had a 4-way draw, the USA having the most centers and starting to crack me, Antarctica having the next most, me as China 3rd, and Europe held out forever with 2 centers against all the rest of our superpowers, so we just drew with him, he put up a great defense...

1945 or so I believe.
We should write a forum FAQs - this comes up every two months!

So something like the TOP TEN GAMES ???
Alderian (2425 D(S))

@TAWZ, If you go to the link that Ghost provided above you can do a search and then sort it by the oldest turn. Problem is, several of those top games are not legitimately that long. Meaning, they just all held for many years because earlier in the webdip history there was no pause function. So it isn't as if there was actual back and forth fighting for that long.

25 Years ago: Long before Waco, there was MOVE
Not sure what kind of press there was in the national or international media (and most of the people on this site are too young to remember), but I was in the Philadelphia media market at the time, and it was HUGE.

I know in a map of America, if you see a little box next to the map with islands in it, its Hawaii. What about a British map?
