No idea what to do...
So, in this game, I am facing 3 countries that are in a permanent alliance. They don't actually coordinate very well, which allowed me to get into a stalemate line. Their response to this, was just to continue doing what they were doing. I can't seem to get them to talk to me at all. They won't turn on each other. I am not sure what to do.

Pause please
gameID=13085

Everyone has agreed to pause except France, who keeps going NMR. He hasn't gone yet, but probably will, and has gunboated (I think) everyone in the game.

Private game needs seventh
Once again I started a private game and need a seventh player. The six of us have played together several times but I can assure there are no pre-determined alliances. The game name is Loki's Labyrith. Password is bladetoback if anyone is interested. Just need one to begin.

Site Error: Game 13309
I am playing game 13309 as Austria. The system apparently held all units and finalized my turn during the second round. I had been waiting for the "!!" signal that I had moves to make and only because I happened to look did I notice that all units were set to hold and finalized, even though I had placed no such order, nor recall having even been given the option of placing orders before they were entered by the system. Fortunately, this error was caught before all players had finalized.

Halo series, 007 titles (particularly Nightfire), and the entire Medal of Honor series. I don't think I can pick just one. Sorry.

halo 3 is definitely mine...easily my favorite game of all time.

i realize most people cant pick just one that easily. i also really like COD4:MW and gears of war 1 and 2

MASS EFFECT! Big time! I've played through 5 times (on my 6th playthrough). It can be rough at the beginning, but once you get some levels and some decent weapons/armor, it is a total blast... and the story is CAPTIVATING. Truly a great game with lots of replayability!

Barely breaking into console gaming. I do like Oblivion. Most FPS seem to be the same to me. I enjoy them but after once through I'm done.

Battlefield 1942 is a masterpiece too.
I used to be so freaking good at that game.

Call of duty 5 is amazing, especially since Gary Oldman and Kiefer Sutherland voice some characters. Waiting for Assassins Creed 2 to come out, as well as I am Alive
iMurk789 (100 D)
14 Sep 09 UTC
@mugence- imo, cod5 is far too similar to cod4, and the few things they did change were for the worse.
@tailboarder- try fallout 3.
fortknox (2059 D)

I liked assassins creed 1 for the story and the graphics, but it became monotonous... same 5 things in each town, just progressively harder. I wanted something new!

Fallout3 is a GREAT game as well!
mugence (417 D)
14 Sep 09 UTC
@iMurk I realize that but I like time period pieces especially when it is WW2

@fortknox yes creed 1 was repetitive but from what I have read about creed 2 it is not going to be linear and it will be more exploratory, with obviously better graphics and an amazing story

take out the glitches and cod 3 was by far the best cod game, 4 and 5 are just spray and pray
wydend (0 DX)
14 Sep 09 UTC
Bioshock, COD4, or Fallout 3.
wydend could not have put it better. All three of those games are amazing and some of the best times that I've had playing a console game. That being said try out Rainbow Six Vegas 2. With unlockable weapons, a great cover system, and incredibly smart bots that will use cover and all sorts of tactical attacks this game is really fun to play with a friend or online.
iMurk789 (100 D)

cod4 has perks, attachments, ranks, experience, killstreaks, and search and destroy. thats why i liked it better than 3.
trim101 (363 D)
14 Sep 09 UTC
they in my eyes are all pointless fanboy fads there is no need for them, there is no real tatics like i said spray and pray
If you hate spray and pray play Rainbow Six. Spraying and praying will get you picked off by people who play smart very quickly.
Draugnar (0 DX)
14 Sep 09 UTC
If you want WWII without the spray and pray, the MoH series has some nice intrigue missions where stealth is more important mixed in with the "if it moves, kill it!" missions.
trim101 (363 D)
14 Sep 09 UTC
or i could just play cod 3 where there is still a nice group of people playing who dont cheat, give me a kar and eder dam and im happy
Draugnar (0 DX)
14 Sep 09 UTC
I haven't played the CoD series. Does it allow multiplayer by chance? That is the limitation of the MoH series. They are strictly single person or same XBox multi-soop games. No arena stuff or XBox Live capabilities, unfortunately.
Draugnar (0 DX)
14 Sep 09 UTC
grrrr multi-coop
Fallout 3 is a given. I'm a big fan of a very unpopular game... Frontlines. It's one of the few games where I actually enjoy multiplayer online, and I find singleplayer to be highly re-playable. Actually it's a lot like a WWIII version of the Star Wars Battlefront games, which I also liked a lot.
trim101 (363 D)
14 Sep 09 UTC
@draugnar yeah 2,3,4,5 are all multiplayer 2/3 you can play 4 player online on the same xbox but 4 and 5 you cant which is another reason i prefer 3

SW: Battlefront is cool. I liked playing the Droid army and jumping in some of those cool vehicles they had.

@noobzorzpwnage Rainbow Six Vegas is possible one of the greatest games....it has a lot of glitches but as long as there is no glitchers in your game it makes that game one of the greatest. You can not spray and pray on that game.

my favorite personal besides Rainbow is Halo 3
been out for 2 years yet still has more people playing it everyday then COD 4 or 5

@draugnar-playing cod4 on xbox live is a huge part of the game.

@trim- i dont remember there being much more tactics to 3 than 4, but maybe thats just me.
wydend (0 DX)
14 Sep 09 UTC
I liked Cod 4 much better than 3. It is not pray and spray at all. Sure there are automatic weapons but it still takes skill. And if I wanted to play a WWII version I would play Cod2 because it is much better than 3.

rainbow was a good game. i have to say, i liked oblivion more than fallout though.
Fifa 10 Demo... I don't even own an Xbox but it's immense.

Oblivion and Fallout are the same game. One is in a fantasy realm, the other in a post-apocalyptic world.

The other difference is that in fallout you can level up without making yourself completely weak and unable to fight most monsters unless you carefully setup your levels and time them right.

Shaun White Snowboarding :-). For FPS, I'm waiting for Arma II. Infiltration on the PC is the benchmark to beat...

Oblivion is the best game I have ever played, but I also grew up playing the Might and Magic series on my computer with Might and Magic VII being the best one available and most like Oblivion. Oblivion culminates the open world with the variety of quests, a fantasy pre-gun realm (for some reason I can't help but love non-shooter games -which is a reason I like Assassin's Creed) and a beautiful story which are similar to MM7 with the ability to use only one character from a first or third person perspective. If anyone knows MM series, you usually have anywhere from 4-6 characters who just sit in a window at the bottom of the screen, so that is why I prefer Oblivion where you can actually have a free flowing game.

@fortknox, I'm confused by your leveling up complaint of Oblivion.
fortknox (2059 D)
15 Sep 09 UTC
@The General:
Look at this:
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Leveling
Under "The Leveling Problem"

When I play RPG, I tend to try to power-level. This is bad in Oblivion, as you have to take your time leveling (and some don't level at all!) so that the enemies do not overlevel you.

I also enjoy non-shooters, or, even better, shooters where shooting can be more harmful than good (like the thief trilogy). I like the 'sneak' aspects and such, but the story is what compels me to play games.
@fortknox: Oblivion and Fallout are not the same game, they're the same engine. Big difference, which is why Oblivion was pretty much an abortion, yet Fallout 3 is easily one of the best games of the past ten years or so. Kinda like webDip versus playDip. :-)
wydend (0 DX)
15 Sep 09 UTC
@fortknox: If you haven't played Bioshock before you should. It has one of the most intense and eerie storylines in any video game. It also has the deepest characters out of any video game I have ever played.
iMurk789 (100 D)

personally, i thought oblivion was far better than fallout 3. imo, fallout 3's main quest and storyline was so....boring. i mean the whole wasteland concept is cool, but working to get water to the people...? lame. closing gates to an alternate dimension? now thats a little bit more exciting.
tilMletokill (100 D)
16 Sep 09 UTC
oblivion is a good game but fallout 3 is better for two reason........GUNS....and a storyline that makes since and doesnt get lost in all the quest or missions.
thats why I like more sentimatic games like COD 4 or Halo 3 or (even though it is on PS2) Kingdom Hearts 2

Civil Disorder vs. Civil Disorder
According to the rules, civil disorder is the state a country enters when it misses any turn. Shouldn't this be noted in the game right away instead of after 2 turns? I am not saying that other people should be able to take up your country after only one missed turn. I am saying that after one missed turn, the civil disorder tag should be applied, and after two missed turns, an ‘open’ or similar tag should be applied.

Applauding a player in a gunboat...
Ever have one of those situations where you want to applaud a brilliant move by an opponent in a gunboat game? I wish there was a 'Tip of the Cap' button, so you could do that without violating gunboat moves. In 2-3 weeks when the game ends, it won't mean as much.

Online indicator gives away anon games
I often play private games against friends, several of whom are in different time zones. We're finding that the online and Last Seen indicators give you a pretty good clue about who's who. Probably applicable only to these situations, but I think for a truly anonymous game, they're undesirable.
