In one of my games, a player has dropped out and no-one can remember the password to allow a new player to take over... is there any way Kestas or a mod could find out what the password was for us?
Things used to be cool between us, you and me. Just naturally. We'd hang out late at night and talk about old movies without even thinking much about it, just taking it for granted. Then, I created a game called "The Battle of Mons Badonicus." And you acted differently. Why I may never know. Was it because of the 150 point buy in? Could you just not get over my undying affection for "Bridge on the River Kwai"?
i am doing my moves in the game called Restricted Builds Varient , and it doesn't show the moves for tunis or mid atlantic ocean. is this normal, or what. in the game This is It, England had to disband one of his armies/fleets because he lost an SC, so he chose to disband his fleet in StP. but it's still there even though the disband symbol of a bomb going off is there. Just curious if this is normal, and can he still use the illegal fleet?
I think Toby is right. The game certainly starts, and the first 7 players will be treated normally what I don't know is the fate of the 8th player. I fear that they are just ignored, and the only reason the player got their points back last time was the 100point refill system. If anyone gets any evidence of this do mention, a little patch to check when a game starts with 8 wouldn't be hard to do. Indeed, would also be good to make the game start immediately if there are 7 *or more* players, reducing the time player 8 doesn't have said points.
I downloaded+modified the pregame.php file to allow for this error, but unfortunately I don't have a system to test it on - is there any way I can pass it along to the devs? I could use the developers forum if that will help. Though I'm sure Kestas or someone has already fixed this, it's rather minor.
Here's the list of players and current points after joining. So, once the game starts we can see if the person left out (probably me because I'm listed last) gets the 101 points back.
I'm not sure EJ but yes it is a very simple modification. I would make it myself, but Kestas has made a lot of changes which are on his local version, so I thought I wait for that to come through before doing anything.
I have another question about this though. The buy-in was 101 ponts, so the pot should be 808 even if the 8th players buy-in was counted. But instead it is 825.
So, did you get your points back automatically, DipperDon? (I can't tell, since it looks like you got a bunch of points from somewhere else in the meantime).
How did the pot get to 825 in the first place? 825/8 = 103.125 per player while 825/7 = 117.857... per player if only the first 7 players' points went in. What was the buy in? Just curious.
Could be. I've brought up the actual bug on the dev forum along with suggestions to deal with it, so that should be alright, but this specific case still needs to be dealt with
we all paused this game for germany because he was going out of town, but hes back now, and everyone has voted to unpause except France, who has no units anyway, and hasnt logged on for quite some time. Could we get a mod to unpause this for us? Thanks
The Battle of Mons Badonicus, 150 buy-in, PPSC. Serious, active players actively recruited. No particular "school" of players sought. Don't expect ultra-stabbing or ultra-loyalty. Just a good, classic game of Diplomacy with PPSC. Come on, you want to deep inside! Those 8 games you're are not enough. They leave you with nothing to do during the last half hour of your work day.
If Piedmont and Tuscany are going to have a head on collision, but piedmont gets convoyed into Tuscany, and the other army just moves via land, do they swap?
