Greetings, webDip users!
The moderation team is looking to expand and add some new names and skills to it. We're going to do an open application for these spots, and we shall be keeping them on record for the future, too. A moderator has a lot of responsibilities that any potential mod must be comfortable with, so please evaluate these carefully before applying.
Responsibilities:
- A moderator is a representative of the site at all times. Even in threads where you are just posting as a user, non-forumers will still see you as a moderator, so you should always post with that in mind and be welcoming and respectful to people.
- A moderator has a lot of powers that normal users do not have. These powers must be used for the reasons they exist. There is strict accountability for your actions, and all actions are logged. Abusing these powers could lead to a site ban. This includes sharing details of what mods can or can't do, or anything else which could help cheaters avoid detection.
- Moderation will take up some of your time on the site, and if you can't add more time in general, you may find yourself playing less games or less active on the forums as a result. Please bear this in mind.
Requirements:
- Moderation does not have to take up huge amount of your time, but you do need to be able to dedicate a few hours to it per week.
- High motivation and dedication to the site, to put the work in and maintain a high standard
- Good communication and teamwork skills to ensure consistency throughout the moderation team
- A calm and patient head, particularly when communicating with users
Programming skills are always a welcome boost, but they are not a specific requirement.
Whilst there have been applications in the past, these were a long time ago and so we can't be sure whether people are still interested. As a result, we would appreciate fresh applications from any and all who are interested.
An application should include:
- Why you want to be a moderator
- Any previous experience relevant to moderating
- Why you believe you would make a good moderator
- Your location/timezone (for co-ordination purposes)
Applications will remain open and accepted and kept on a record from this point onwards, even when we are not actively looking for new moderators.
If you believe you fit the criteria and can accept the responsibilities, please email applications to
