According to jmo, no. I can't for the life of me understand why, however. I was under the impression this was going to be a genuine inter-site tournament that just happened to be hosted on webDip, rather than a webDip tournament with invites sent to a deserving few from other sites.

It's not as if it would be difficult to give the likes of Draug or Maple a temporary account for the tournament, nor would it be difficult to silence them in the forums whilst they were here. I have no idea what the problem is.

This is an ingenious idea by Octavious, unfortunately phrased in a passive aggressive way. I hope they listen anyway.

The tournament director has power over games here that he doesn't have at other sites, so games will be played here. As a result, players banned from vDip or PlayDip or Bounced or any other site are welcome. If it becomes a repeated tournament, it may be hosted somewhere else in the future, and then webDip's banned players can play and that site's banned players can't. Banning means losing the privilege to play on this site, and the tournament doesn't supersede that.

It's rather simple to understand Octavious. We do not ban people unless we come to the determination that they have no regard for the rules or the site. This is a free site, the only thing we ask is people follow a few rules and respect other members. We will not do anything to accommodate people who will not abide by those rules.

This, I don't believe, is about unbanning draug. It's about letting him participate in a tournament as a representative of another site.

I am not advocating for unbanning draug, to be clear. The powers that be, determined that this was the appropriate action to take ,and I'm not trying to change that. Letting him play in a cross site tournament and a representative of another site, to me is something different.

Ah, well krellin, I work shifts at both my morning and night jobs on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. I'd love to get a drink with you, more than love to actually. But if you are getting here on a Thursday and will be gone before Sunday, I'm afraid I won't be able to unless you are willing to meet me at like 11pm - which for New Orleans is never out of the question, as long as you're up for it.
