"As with any online game, as it grows phpDiplomacy will attract more and more people who act like idiots, and are rude whenever something doesn't go their way. Often these are 13year olds, although I have known of a lot of sensible 13 year olds, and terrible 29year olds. Several times I have had this sort of response on here, although it has only been occurring since around mid-February, which supports my point.
Lets just hope that the entrance into this phase of growth doesn't cause older members to give up on playing with those joining anew..."


I though it pretty interesting that in April of 2007 the discussion of courtesy was beginning to be an issue. It has no bearing on the current situation, but I thought looking back would be a good way to look forward. I know that my first impression of this forum (in 2009) was of how polite a place it was. Of course it was a much smaller community, back then.
