Forum Moderation and Muting

For the past few years abge and the mod team have been asking members to tell us what you wanted moderation wise. More than anything we have asked you to email Kestas if you do not agree with site policy. Not a single person EVER has emailed him asking for more forum moderation.

Who came up with these ridiculous odds? England having the same odds as France, and better odds than Holland? Get out of town - England have a mediocre team and will be lucky to get to the quarter finals.

Ladbrokes, who I think are generally on the money, have England at 28/1 which I think is a more accurate price.

Just so we're clear on this, the site will not be sponsoring any pot nor will we facilitate any points transfer.

Its been pretty well established that we do not transfer or award points except in the case of site sanctioned tournaments. If you wanted to set up some kind of tournament - perhaps modeled after the World Cup with similar national and regional teams - and hold it every few years, you're more than welcome to do so.

I'm just as glad, 2WL. I'd rather not see more and more of these deals. I appreciated the April Fools day joke on March 31st :-), but too much of this distracts from the purpose of the site: the game of diplomacy. That's why I haven't gotten into any of the 3? mafia games. I mute them as soon as they come up.

the best team is undoubtedly Germany. But the cup will go to brazil cause otherwise they ll commit suicide again and also so that noone pays attention to the demands of the brazilian people. so, brazil will win germany in the semi finals and face argentina in the final winning 3-1. btw that's the score that goldman sachs suggests too.

I had a dream that the World Cup was won by the Barbarians, which was a team made up of the best players from nations that failed to qualify. But then I woke up and remembered that football was governed by a bunch of self serving tits and that things like that will never happen.

well since the mods want to ruin our fun, the alternative is we play a couple of diplomacy games and set it up in such a way that the pots and the winners end up being the people who win the bets here.

Not sure how we could do it given how wide the range of bets are here...

The poo maple

As I was cleaning my mapleleaf, I discovered it was covered in poo. I got it all over my shorts. When I checked if it did happen, I got it all over my hands. I've washed them 3 times and they still smell like maplepoo.

Please advise.

Since it is quite evident to all that Maplepoo it yet another Canadian that really wishes he weren't, and he has obvious jealousy issue with the US - his desired dwelling place, but that his criminal record (or some such thing) is preventing him from becoming a US citizen, and thus he has taken to rather amusing constant stream of America bashing to try to soothe his saddened soul....let's take up a collection and send old maplepoo the biggest US flag we can find.

An Idea for World Games

Most of my recent games have been World, and I've found that once you get 20+ units, the list of orders can become quite unwieldy. Since you develop different "fronts" involving different sets of units, it'd be really cool to be able to arrange my own units to I could keep all of my South American guerrillas separate from my Mongolian hordes (Inner and regular). Would this be simple/worthwhile to incorporate?
