THer is nothing that is wrong with your dad. He is a good guy. I work 24 on and 48 off. That is my schedule. there is NOTHING wrong with you or your family I promise... Your dad sees things that he feels is not right to bring home to you guys. I have no idea how old you are and it really doesn't matter. He has to deal with the general public in the worst of circumstances. Imagine the worst thing you can, then imagine your dad being there. He must deal with a family in that situation...
That is the worst you can come up with. I promise reality is worse....
This is not a picture for my kids or his (you). He is not going to talk about it.
Picking people up off the street with a shovel just to put them in a plastic bag is not something you take home to your kids or your wife.
Do not ask him because he will not tell you...
If you ask him of course he will say "nothing"...
One can not paint the picture of what we see. It changes every day.

Imagine the worst case scenario for children. Now be in the position you are the one to call the Department of Children and Family Services...Sometimes it is not a question of should you but a question of why hasn't anyone called before now???
Wreck scenes, fire Scenes, shootings, suicides, stabbings, etc. No I will not discuss this with my kids and the media says these things like it is news....
Dad knows what he is doing....
Let him be. He has to deal with it. You do better. Go to school and learn everything you can so you are not the one in the street saying what is wrong with people....

PS I went opn a trip to russia this summer and spent a lot of time with a guy who was a firefighter antway I really enjoyed debates with him but unfortunately he has always drank and that + an affair broke up his marriage. Really great guy and although things didn't work out with the marriage I know his kids and they are great and It seems the are even closer aftr the split. I hope you don't brak up with your wife but at least you can know your kids will love you no matter what.

I am glad you see that as a compliment. That was the way I intended things. You are a bright young man and I know what ever you pursue you will be great at. I just hope to meet you in 10-15 years...

you are only 2 years older than my oldest son.
He is bright too. You both lack real world experience. That is ok. I know you will do well. You have a leg up and are dealing with or at least reading about real world issues. I do not mean to bring things up here. I have a lot of respect for you. You may not realize it yet but that is why I would like to meet you in 15 years but not now. You will understand in another 10 years or so. Probably less, if I am right about you....
