Minimum players in classic game
Hi all, my first time creating a game on my own. Is there a way to set the game to only 4 or 5 players for a private game? I didn't see any option and it shows "game will start when all 7 players have joined" now. Thanks for any help!!

Chat history
I really want to review all the messages I sent to someone, but the history logs appear limited. Are they just gone, or is there any way to see the full message logs with a player from a game?

Question concerning game rules (pms)
Hi there! I need a public and official reply by a MODERATOR.
If you play a match without anonymous players, but even without private chat (only team chat): Is it allowed to write the other players private messages in order to negotiate? In my opinion everbody see the names of the other players and everybody can write to the other players, so it is a fair system. It is a very important part of this game to negotiate, you know.
How are the official rules?

WebDiplomacy Website Buy-In/Ownership
Just a question that I have, not too sure if anyone can answer them. I have been pondering how people own the site. I know that you can become part of the Moderator/Admin Team or donate to the site, but how would someone go about purchasing the Web Diplomacy site?

Should Capitol Police protection be extended to all members of Congress?
At the Scalise incident this morning, the Capitol police were present only because Scalise was there. Without them, the shooter would have had a clear field until Alexandria police arrived. Shouldn't the Capitol Police protect EVERY large gathering of Congressmen?

Cancelling a game
I've never cancelled a game before, but i'm wondering, if you cancel a game, will you get your starting coins back? Say you bid 10, will you get 10 back when you cancel? Also, what about if you take over a civil disorder?

The Last Known World Game
I just finished up the second to last Known World game, http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=187834, on 36 hour phases, which we probably played a few years further than we might have for that honor. This leaves one 10-day phase game in a still relatively early state, http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=187877

I don't see how any of these claims are warranted....

And Scott Pilgrim doesn't HAVE poor cinematography. Also, if the shots created are awful enough, it'll show through beyond the editing.

Post-production is a vital stage of filmmaking. As vital as writing.

Any person with any hint of an idea of filmmaking would agree. You're trying to pass off as a film snob, but you're just wildly pretentious.

Although, I do find it disheartening that so many people keep hoping that being illiterate will some day count as an asset.
TrPrado (461 D)
02 May 17 UTC
I'm sorry. I've considered minoring in film because of how much I love my film class. I've learned shit about film that is basic stuff. That you seem to disregard as "illiteracy." It's basic essentials to making great films, but you disregard them as irrelevant garbage that's there for dumb and uncultured masses and that's an absolutely disgusting approach.

It's especially weird, since editing and post production are one of the things that set movies apart from just being plays....

Hey Vash, you still haven't provided any other examples of good Edgar Wright movies.
Isn't this matchup over now?
Jeff Kuta (2066 D)

Someone previously mentioned The Cornetto Trilogy of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World's End, though the final installment was a bit lacking.
Chaqa (3971 D(B))

I said the Cornetto Trilogy, and said Edgar Wright hadn't made any other good movies. Vash said he's made plenty more, and I'm now waiting for examples.

Group A is tied at 9 for both Apollo 13 and Ben Hur.

Group A next round:
8 - Citizen Kane vs 25 - Network

Group B. Regretfully, Big Trouble in Little China beats Scott Pilgrim 10-8

Next round:
8 - Casablanca vs 25 - Naked Gun

Group C has V for Vendetta winning out pretty easily.

Next round:
8 - Das Boot vs 25 - Ice Cold in Alex

Group D has a close comeback with 2001 at 11-8 over Mad Max

Next round:
8 - the Matrix vs 25 - Interstellar

##VOTE Citizen Kane because I'm not a madman.
##VOTE Casablanca. I nominated it so there's that.
##VOTE The Matrix. Christopher Nolan peaked with Inception.

Also if someone could break the tie in group A that'd be nice. I didn't care enough about the round to vote ;)
Oh god your formatting is terrible. Also ben hur moves on. GM breaks ties

GM breaks ties Wtf? ##VOTE Apollo 13
Yes....
GM also makes the rules
TrPrado (461 D)

GM still hasn't voted for the current rounds.
TrPrado (461 D)
03 May 17 UTC
As the adjudicator of the previous round, I give myself the right to make a ruling in this case.

So, let's look at a couple facts. Vash was one of the 9 original voters for Ben Hur, while ghug had yet to vote for the round. It also states nowhere that GM's vote breaks ties except where Vash claimed to have that authority just now. Vash using his vote as a regular vote means that in terms of voting he plays more of the role of a regular pariticipant than a tiebreaking GM. As the previous adjudicator, my ruling is that Apollo 13 moves on 10-9.
Yeah...that's not how this works tr
TrPrado (461 D)
03 May 17 UTC
The rules don't state that's not how it works. If we all have the right to adjudicate, then that's absolutely how that works.
TrPrado (461 D)

You don't have that authority vested in you by the rules of the tournament. Learn your constitution, tyrant.

I second Prado's decision as someone who thinks Apollo 13 should win.

Also, if ghug hadn't voted yet, there's no reason not to accept his vote.
GM NOTE: The GM and solely the GM has the authority to change rules. This seems to make sense as I organized the tournament and otherwise any tom dick and harry can change them.

GM NOTE: GM Breaks ties, my apologies for not mentioning this explicitly, I thought I put that in the rules and it's intuitive given that when the phase ends, voting on it also ends so you need a metric to adjudicate at that time.
