As for my parents, I am nothing like my father - I learned from his mistakes, and actually did quite a lot of study of relationships as a younger man heading towards marriage/kids because I didn't particularly care for how my father acted at times. I'm not going in to details, but are you asking if I am a carbon copy of my parents, hell no.
