Multiple Accounts....
I recently discovered that my friend (Shmoop/dmindlin824/olminlin) actually has multiple accounts. In one game, he even played with two of his accounts at once (and still lost...). What would be the appropriate action to take at this point?

question for name on board game for market
Im making a board game for the market and im taking a pole on which name is better. The two names are war of 4 and Generals command. I know you do not know anything about the game. Dont worry about that. The names have hardly anything to do with discribing it anyway. Im just trying to find out which of the two names you like best.

Just want to double check a rule.
If Germany is doing a self bounce such as Hol-Ruhr, Mun-Ruhr
Would a French move of Piccardy supporting the attack into Ruhr from Munich, and at the same time Burgandy-Munich work for France ? Not exactly sure how the attacking your own troops rules works.

A Shooting a Day Keeps the NRA Away
Someone needs to make this a real point. If you want gun control, outspend the NRA and yell louder than them. No real arguing tactics are going to work so let's stoop down to their level.

Gunboat question about convoys
Has anyone successfully convoyed with an ally's help in a gunboat game? How would you communicate that intent if you're the army and they are the fleet?

Gay sensitivity classes in primary school?
I just read a very disturbing article (in Dutch) about gay sensitivity classes in primary school. Isn't this the kind of stuff that you teach your kids at home? "If you're gay, you can just say so, we're all human." You're supposed to know and admit that you're gay when you barely hit puberty? Disturbing.

The article that prompted this thread specifically spoke about "acceptance of homosexuality". This is what I reject categorically, because it refers to a state of mind. That's why I believe it's a form of (admittedly mild) brainwashing.

What ulytau discusses is "tolerance." I find "tolerance" and "acceptance" to be entirely different concepts. Tolerance to me possibly includes denouncing homosexuality, in fact the right to finding such a person repugnant, but to treating this person with the same courtesy you would anybody else. Acceptance to me means approving of homosexuality. This certainly shouldn't be in the curriculum, the difference between teaching a kid tolerance of homosexuality (which it can, and should, learn in school, possibly even in primary school) and acceptance of it is exactly the difference between the values you learn from society to function within society and the values you learn at home to function in a family.

lol octavious, I double misinterpeted you there... football = soccer, minister = politician. Got it.

Damn Brit.

I was talking about american football, and we've had some recent revelations with impact as-yet unknown. I think you're right that it can only help, but how much we don't know yet.

You've got to do better than just saying "sexuality is rather different." Why is it different? If major science is to be believed, sexual orientation begins to make itself identifiable not long after real religious indoctrination. I would say that the persecution gays face are in a great many ways identical to religious and racial persecution of the pas (and present).

@redhouse OK, so you believe that we should teach children to be tolerant and respectful of these lifestyles, but we shouldn't teach them that it is an acceptable or appropriate path?
redhouse1938 (429 D)

@YJ, no, not respectful, only tolerant i.e. live and let live. And no, it is up to the children to decide for themselves, probably at a later stage in their development, whether it is an acceptable and appropriate path (for them).
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
01 Feb 13 UTC
Well, if that's the best you can do, I guess that's that. If mere tolerance is all you, redhouse, can offer, that's fine. Still, glad the schools are going a bit further.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
01 Feb 13 UTC
And that isn't to detract from your personal tolerance, either. It's an admirable quality to have for behavior you don't condone - so long as you really live it.
redhouse1938 (429 D)

Let's have a poll.

YJ builds a primary school where he teaches about accepting homosexuality and being nice to gay people and everything we discussed so far, and that if you have doubts about your sexuality they can discuss it at school.
I also build a school, where children are taught that they should live in peace, be nice to each other and and that with time, they will understand more and more about the world and people around them and be able to form an opinion on them. If a problem with anti-gay kid violence ever arises, the first thing this school does is summon the parents of the kid who did that.

1. Which school will offer better protection to children who, in a later life, will firmly identify themselves as gay?

2. Which school will educate the children that are most tolerant toward different people and who are best capable of articulating an opinion on such matters?

Exactly.

What do you mean, "exactly" ? The results of the poll aren't in. I vote for YJ's school. That's 1-0 against you so far.

Exactly.
redhouse1938 (429 D)

Exactly.
Make that 2-0. Exactly.

Discussing sexuality with teachers at a primary school level is ridiculous.

Haha, I for one, refuse to accept any victory resultant from a webdip poll, though it is of course a fun exercise - and I thank you redhouse for stating my case in an unbiased fashion.
Buggy Virus (100 D)

I would prefer they strive to instil the ideas of general acceptance of all people whose actions don't negatively affect others. This is actually brainwashing, but trying to instil any moral belief in children in school is brainwashing whether it acceptance or tolerance.

And polls don't decide who is right, rather who is more numerous.
