It was the definition I was using throughout. It is the one that I felt best fit the situation. If you have ever participated in any academic exercises beyond high school you know that you yourself define your terms, and they are hardly "pulled out of the ass"

But that point is moot, my point is a reading of the text and the text says that there was no intention to wipe out the amalakites.
