whoops didn't see the thing about not giving -1 votes, but dont see why not if for example 20 people dont want GR intergration but 10 people do the result would be +10 not -10 which makes no sense.

We're trying to see what will benefit the most people. If something has a vote of +2, it could obscure the fact that 30 people voted yes and 28 people voted no. Now, to me there's a huge difference between a simple +2 and 30 yes votes. Adding negative votes doesn't show the scale to which people like it. Plus, if there are that many negative votes, there will still be a differential because people will vote for other topics and a gap will start to form.

@goldfinger - I held poll recently to determine what is the most popular fruit here are the results

(a) apple 20 likes 106 dislikes
(b) banana 7 likes 4 dislikes
(c) tomatoes 18 likes 0 dislikes

I hereby declare apples to be the most popular fruit even though the vast majority of people don't like them.

Why wouldn't the 106 people vote yes on either b or c is what I'm asking.

Focusing on most bang for the effort, 14 pre-CD phase (boot and extend the phase limiting the change to current code) and 5 dscounted buyin (3 center discount, ensuring nearly all positions will be picked up) would improve the integrity and quality of the most games. A Babysitter Option - Where someone can temporarily take over until you can return.

A System Tab - Always present for any system or Mod info only.

A Pause Request System - Could go to the System Tab to specify dates of request. Doesn't eliminate the Pause voting.

Search Games for two player names or IDs - Usually I am looking to see if I have played someone before, but sometimes to see how two others have interacted.

Search Games to see results by Country for a player, again, usually me.

46 already happens unless you mean a no action phase can count as a missed phase which would be problematic for people.who had neither a retreat or a build at the end of a game year. Currently, you miss a move phase, have no retreats or builds, then miss a the apring move phase and you go cd.

Hmm, having a search function to view games with two players in them could be interesting.

In fairness draugnar it wasn't goldfinger's either. I just want the results to be representative of what the community wants and changing something that the majority may be against doesn't make a lot of sense.

What I mean is that players in a game may put in moves for the missing country and the "+1's & -1's" are added... to 'resolve what that country will do, for ex.: a necessary hold, so that a winning player does just clean the board for no good reason... but this come with the inconvenience of if only 2 players put in moves and are 'diametrically opposed' I am not sure that we have, yet, a proper algo. to determine the actual action, that is to say, it is easier to determine if it is to help an 'underdog', but what of the case that bpoth 'competing' powers are of (almost) equal size?...

The principle is fine and dandy, but one day I got a big snowstorm, and no one had connect... so my RELIABILITY "rating" Dropped, excluding me for a Long time from many games, not very palatable IMHO.

Dharma - The boardgame rules already account for players who walk away and we follow the boardgame as closely as possible. The autopause or phase extending and contingent taleover don't violate the spirit of the boardgame, but your suggestion would clearly be considered of a variant from the one nation per player concept.

At the same time, I think we should do some expectation management here. Although I'm pretty new to this site, it seems to me that the speed of ideas for features by far exceeds the speed of coding. The forum for development is already filled with feature ideas and bug, but coding is slower.

In fact, I wonder whether we utilise our current user database very well, since there seem to be loads of coders among us. Volunteer people!!
