I assume the scoring would look like this:
x*W + y*D + z*C + S

where
x = # correct picks in WildCard round
y = # correct picks in Divisional round
z = # correct picks in Conference round

W = wild card factor (probably 1)
D = divisional factor (somewhere between 1 and 2)
C = conference factor (probably 3)
S = superbowl factor (probably 4)

I never thought I would say this, but with the way Flacco played tonight I am worried about how my patriots will do against them.

However, I think I was one of the few of us who thought the Ravens defense could beat Manning and the Broncos, and I was right. :D

Corey Graham; 2 interceptions; one of them a touchdown, and the interception in the final minute of the first OT which lead to the field goal.

Yes Flocco played a great game, but it wasn't a complete blow out. Manning had 100 yards less then his average for the season. Yes 5 touchdowns is rare but hey, the defense got the job done, and when it mattered (OT) they were there and won the game.

The Ravens defense wasn't there.. Manning beat himself, but it was clearly not because of the Ravens defense. They held him to much less in the first game they played, and in much worse conditions, Manning did better than the first game. That alone will show that the Ravens weren't up to what they could have been against him.

Granted they were much better last year and with Flacco playing like he did, had this game been last year, this game wouldn't have been close.

I blame Denver playcalling at the end. Too conservative on the Broncos' second to last possession, putting the game on whether the D could stop the Ravens from scoring a TD. Then too conservative again getting the ball back with a tie game, two timeouts, and 30ish seconds. You have freaking Peyton Manning, why not try to get within FG range to put it away in regulation?

Real feminism and real atheism is, I think, being somewhat "poisoned" by this increasingly-smug, self-assured band of PC Police.

CD or hold everything?

I'm in a gunboat at the moment where one of the players - who has no shot at winning anymore - has decided to hold every turn giving SCs to the largest player, in effect throwing the game. I'd prefer if he would just CD so we can get somebody else. Are there any (un)written good practices?

New scoring system at playdip

I'd be interested to know how they came to their weighting and formulae. Unfortunately, they're not publishing the algorithm. It's a little frustrating as it would be an interesting piece of discussion for the diplomacy community. Am I the only one on this forum who thinks tomatoes are an overrated vegetable?

It's basically a red sack of water right? I'm trying to sort of evaluate (with shear power of the mind) to determine if it really should be in the "two ounces of vegetables and two fruits" zone or in the "drink 2 liters of water a day" zone.
