Now that is hilarious. I am anything but a religious fanatic. As a matter of fact, I haven't ever mentioned anything religious on this forum. But, since I don't see things your way, there has to be a name for it. Got cha.
I'm not a scientist. I'm not a climetologist. My guess is, no one else here is. But...I do think that when an overwhelming percentage of scientists think something is true, then it probably is true. Probably. I know that science marches on and changes of thinking do occur. But, I will believe the scientists before I believe someone that just spouts crap off the top of their heads.
And, unlike some people here, I actually read the articles that I link. Here is some of it, for those of you who can't follow a link:
"To get a view on global temperatures that long ago, the researchers studied 73 sediment and polar ice samples, taken from all over the globe. Chemicals found in fossils deep down in the samples span the ages and are good indicators of historic temperatures on Earth, Marcott said.
The scientists did the study to put the global temperature trends into a long-range perspective, Marcott said. Critics of climate change research, which has generally covered the last 1,500 to 2,000 years, have complained that it has been too short-sighted."
So actual scientists have developed a method to determine the temperature of the planet in the distant past, about 11,000 years, and have accounted for the tilt of the earth (which is discussed in the same article). Sounds good to me. Of course, some people will continue to spout the minority position. That's OK. After all, gravity is only a theory.
