Multiple Accounts....
I recently discovered that my friend (Shmoop/dmindlin824/olminlin) actually has multiple accounts. In one game, he even played with two of his accounts at once (and still lost...). What would be the appropriate action to take at this point?

question for name on board game for market
Im making a board game for the market and im taking a pole on which name is better. The two names are war of 4 and Generals command. I know you do not know anything about the game. Dont worry about that. The names have hardly anything to do with discribing it anyway. Im just trying to find out which of the two names you like best.

If Germany is doing a self bounce such as Hol-Ruhr, Mun-Ruhr
Would a French move of Piccardy supporting the attack into Ruhr from Munich, and at the same time Burgandy-Munich work for France ? Not exactly sure how the attacking your own troops rules works.

Gay sensitivity classes in primary school?
I just read a very disturbing article (in Dutch) about gay sensitivity classes in primary school. Isn't this the kind of stuff that you teach your kids at home? "If you're gay, you can just say so, we're all human." You're supposed to know and admit that you're gay when you barely hit puberty? Disturbing.

Red, back to the original topic of the Netherlands... There's still plenty of anti-gay discrimination there. At my friend's university, the LGBT student association didn't march in this year's student association because they were worried about harassment. Though without reading the article, I suppose I can't fully judge it.

I assume KA is either trolling, joking, or crazy.

Don't know why so many Dutch guys are gay, is it genetic or is it the drugs?
I've heard they're all on marijuana and that can kill you, I think if they have a lot of it they go gay first and then die.
That's OK 'cos Dutch birds are fit and there's more left for us.
It's not that more Dutch people are gay, it's that they don't have to hide at all who they are in most parts of the Netherlands. Having traveled the world, I have never seen a place where gays and straight people mix as easily and casually as they do in Amsterdam. Many gay people (men and women) of all over the world settle in Amsterdam because it makes them feel at home.

On drugs, I recently heard that NL has one of the highest rates of kids *trying* drugs, but one of the lowest rates of people *continuing* with drugs after puberty.
Oooh Thucy, you're a bad influence. Jokes are coming into my head at a higher rate than religious sexual predators are outed.

Abge, ok, specifically, historical contributions of gays have to be included in every textbook, including math. I don't know how much of that the teachers have to state in their curriculum. Here's a link: http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/california-passes-bill-mandating-pro-gay-teaching-in-schools-no-parent-opt
Wow, this passes for journalism these days?

The first mistake is already to talk about homosexuality as a black/white issue. There is no homosexual history. There is no black history. There is just history. All human traits, be it skin color, religion, hair color, patience, kindness, sexuality - they all come in different forms and sizes.

It's like the discussion in the feminism thread, treating it as different perpetuates the difference.
Thucydides (864 D(B))

Yeah, why is there no white history month?

"historical contributions of gays have to be included in every textbook, including math."

Nothing in this article says that. And even if it did, so what? A story problem would say, "Jonny and Steve went to a movie" instead of "Jonny and Suzie." There wouldn't be any reference to condoms, as per your previous insinuation, and the fact that you suggest that just shows your inability to unwrap gayness from sex, and in your mind, probably "deviant sex" (whatever the hell that means).
Lituya (100 D)

Mujus, that link looks like a tinfoil hat website.
http://www.sfgate.com/default/article/Assembly-OKs-bill-to-add-LGBT-figures-to-textbooks-2355627.php
And haven't other people had math textbooks with occasional pages dedicated to historical figures in mathematics and their contributions to the discipline?

I think gay promotion is a foolish strategy toward gay acceptance (and if it does anything at all for my personal appreciation for the gay community it diminishes rather than augments it, where I'm neutral right now). People who beat up gay people don't have a problem with gay people, they have problems with themselves. This is very much the wrong direction.
redhouse1938 (429 D)
30 Jan 13 UTC
Here's how I would teach gay acceptance:

"Children, most people like to be with someone of the other sex, but some people like being with someone of the same sex.

@Mujus

You are wrong. I read the bill and it does not do what you claim, nor does that article you cited support your claim.

And, even if what you claim is true, it's irrelevant. You know why? One of the most influential mathematics of the last 100 years, Alan Turing, was gay. He *should* already be taught in math and programming courses in HS. And, quite frankly, his untimely death should be mentioned because the world lost a great mathematician who could have produced unknown works because of shithead bigots.

Redhouse... Surely you can distinguish between "promotion" and "information". Agreed, both end in "tion"... But please don't let that confuse you.

Why is it that the straight reactionaries all fear that "the gays are out to get them"??? How bloody insecure are you in your own sexuality to think that it can be threatened by another person's sexual preference??? I really don't get it...
redhouse1938 (429 D)
30 Jan 13 UTC
The gays are not out to get anything. I don't feel threatened by them in the slightest and don't see your point :(
Cachimbo (1181 D)

@ Abge...
You gotta love Turing's life. And how it casts an interesting light on our historical relation to difference. The man played a key role in WWII and the Americans owe him tons. But because he liked penis, he's an outcast.

That's right... the man's mind was fantastic, influential, and essential in the unfolding of OUR history, but his preference for penis was cause for silencing all of that. Hmmm... I see the logic.

And once again, as with ever gay thread on this bloody site, I want to remind one and all that I'm queer and that I piss in the face of all of you who can tell me that this is reason enough to discard me as less than perfectly human.
Cachimbo (1181 D)
30 Jan 13 UTC
Promotion ...

No one is promoting gays. No one.

What IS being promoted is the idea that it should make no fucking difference what your sexual preference is, as you are no less human for liking men or women...
redhouse1938 (429 D)
30 Jan 13 UTC
If it makes no difference why the hell is YJ pleaing for putting Johnny and Steve in a school book? Are we politicizing our school books now for gay people? Why the hell would we do that?

So here's how I would promote anything:

We're all humans. We're all entitled to the same set of rights. And we all fall under the same set of duties.

@abge rofl - at times, neither do I.

@red I'm not pleaing, I was responding to Mutejus' idiotic assertion that condoms will now be in story problems. What I AM saying is that when authoritative figures like teachers and the government put the idea of homosexual behavior in a normal (i.e. not aberrant) context for children, the adults those children become will have a healthier respect for all sexualities.

If I was "pleaing" for innocent heteronormative behavior in story problems, nobody would have a problem with that. But make it GAY and now its all about condoms and buttsecks and AIDS and sexualizing children and opportunistic older men trying to convince straight kids to have their first sexual experience with them.

Just ask Mutejus.
