Any One at FSU or who lives in Tallahassee?
I'm moving up there in less than two weeks to start college, and I'd love to start a diplomacy club, or just play ftf games with anyone from the site who lives in town.

Historical Dates Game
We played a game similar to this a while back and it was lots of fun. You name a date, and whoever guesses what historical event happened then gets to name the next date. So on and so forth. No internet searches please.

"Russia NOOO!!!"
This is the post game discussion thread for gameID=65556 . I was England, despite a good start (minus some early wonky mess up orders with my army that really didnt matter too much) I feel like I lost focus through half the battle and once france dropped out I was in an odd position. A strong juggernaught through most of the game. I was hoping and praying it would have crumbled earlier than it did and was just cringing as russia kept going west. Once his belly was popped it was over though.

If you are playing for points... make sure its 101 or greater.
Too many Multis again... I'm not going to name names or point fingers since we can't but it's getting to the point where I am playing half the time with multis and losing an assload of points. They are getting even more clever and using a new "slave" account every few games. Watch out fellow fair players.

CONSERVATIVE MAN
Funny....the littel boy calls himself a "man",and yet so very often his posts are whiny, bitchy, little-boy posts asking for basic relationship advice. Since he knows mostly nothing about anything....should he have to change his name?

He is a dumbfuck, both poltiically and socially. How pathetic.....but I'm sure his Mommy is proud of him....<sigh...> (I hear she has a *firm grip* Isn't that right, eh? ConservativeMan???

It's interesting that you can criticize someone for being immature AND misspell several grammar-school level vocabulary words in the same post.

Your hypocrisy is truly astounding

Krellin,

You shouldn't wear these mutes as a badge of honor for when they are announced they are in the internet, forever a stain on your record.

So, that being said, I've, after seeing this thread, finally lost all patience for trolls. You officially have the dishonor of being the first person here I'm muting. Wanna wear it like a badge of honor? Go right ahead. Worthless badges since no one here sees it that way.
Draugnar (0 DX)

StevenC - if you had read his other thread posted well after he created this, krellin has apologized and attempted to make amends with the community by taking responsibility off his actions. This thread had almost fallen off the first page and you had to go and bump it back up.

Lets all just let this one fall off. No more posting here. Move along. Nothing to see here.
StevenC. (1047 D(B))

Oh, sorry. I didn't see the other thread. My apologies, Krellin.
krellin (80 DX)

Steven...my name isn't "krellin"....so stain the name "krellin" forever. I'm glad, though, that you have so much concern. <sigh....> Further, I generally look at the ideology of the people that have muted me....and realize that, since I disagree with them so vehemently, it's usually not that much of a concern.

That being said, I have recently decided to stop being so offensive. NOT because of people like you -- because, here you are mouthing off like you have something to be offended about...and yet I see no posts by you? So....you are willing to cast judgement? But you also don't have the balls to post an opinion? Drunk, sober, whatever...I have no use for someone like you that is just riding the band-wagon of hate that one of your heros is riding....or perhaps you are an alt???? I don't know. Either way....you should actually post a personal opinion in a thread before you decide to mute someone.

I where you mute as a badge of honor....of the record....it's purple heart. An unnecessary wound....since I think you have never actually read anything people write, but just respond for vagaries...So....whatever.

@Goldfinger....I did ask you to list a "World Leader".....if I recall correctly, you named a number of thugs, tribal leaders, gang leaders, etc.....but you didn't even come CLOSE to naming a world leader....

So, my dissing of your list of leaders stands. A :"World Leader" is a specific thing, not just the self-proclaimed leader of a gang. Ach-ma-need-a jacket out of Iran....sure, he 'leads' Iran...but he is hardly a "world leader".

I trust you have the integrity to understand the nuanced position I am taking on this singular point.

@Abge...In other words, Steven C has unnecessarily attempted to wound me with his false premises. His muting of me, which is based upon a senseless argument, is an undeserved wound: thus, a Purple Heart. By badge of honor...

I make light of the situation, and my foe...

Actually, I think Ahmadinejad is very much a world leader. He consumes a lot of the world's time and definitely has a large effect on decisions made by other world leaders. The same can be said of Kim Il Jong

re: Iran's "Leader" I-need-a-dinner-jacket. He is NOT a "world leader" A LEADER, by definition, is someone that other's follow. Achmaneed-a-blow-job is just some Iranian nutjob that has called over and over and over for the destruction of Isreal. He has called for the right of Iran to have nukes. Other than that....he hasn't said much. So far, the world (including his Islamic neighbors...) have not destroyed Isreal or shown an inclination to destroy Isreal, and have not granted him the unquestioned authority to own nukes.

In short, as a "leader" he is a complete failure. At best, he is ignored (not followed) mostly because Bush...and now Obama....are too afraid to confront him regarding his nuke program. But, by no definition is he a "leader".
krellin (80 DX)
11 Aug 11 UTC
Kim Jong Il is not a leader, either. Again, supposing that the idea of a "leader" implies that others, at least a simple majority, even a 1/3....agree with the person and *follow* them. Who, outside of North Korea (who doesn't rely upon him for basic sustenance...) philosophically agrees with him and follows him by choice, as opposed to coercion?
SacredDigits (102 D)

There were times when less than 1/3 of the world agreed with GW Bush, did that make him cease to be a world leader?

@Abgemacht - How about I create a thread that starts with all kinds of insults to you and insist on bouncing it to the top all the time
You may be a mod but your insistence on keeping the insult appear first and foremost not only insults another player, it hurts the community at large by making us look bad. Hardly conduct becoming a mod. So I say you are officially an assuage fucktard who should have his mod privileges permantly revoked for hurting the community. If you don't like it, you can go fuck you dead great grandfather.

Draugnar,

krellin (80 DX)

@Sacred Digits....eh hem.....there was a time when less than 1/3 of the world agree with Bush? Funny....it seems the majority of the world's major economies NEVER stopped accepting US military support, financial aid, etc. I would view "taking my handouts" as "following my lead", in the simplest of terms. Or at least being open to them. You may call it bribery....in which case I say they bribed nations have no priciples, and thus are followers de-facto, despite their feelings to the contrary regarding US policy.

Please? I may have an argument now with abgemacht, but I'm asking you guys to move this to another thread. Krellin, you know it is the right thing to do. I happen to agree with your view that those particular dictators are not world leaders, and would love to participate if this could get moved.
krellin (80 DX)
12 Aug 11 UTC
Sacred....please....not so small as you think, considering NOBODY has an army any more. But...look beyond the simple wars, and look at the vast array of nations that willingly accept US Aide. If you take my cash willingly, then you are following my leadership. In the very least, you sure as hell are not *rejecting* my leadership if you take my cash.
krellin (80 DX)
12 Aug 11 UTC
Draug is right: I'm off thsi post. *My* initial premise was vile and misguided. Even thought the topic has moved on, the idea taht the original insult should be carried on to continue this current discussion is wrong.

I would encourage all of you to move this to another thread, for the sake of CM.

Civil Discourse
I have always enjpyed civil discourse, where I can have a battle of philosophy, theology and history with someone while maintaining civil. With that in mind, I am thinking of going to a local mosque and asking if there is someone that would participate in an interfaith discussion. Are there others who enjoy this type of thing, or am I weird in this.

Can anyone critique my essay?
This is an essay for my English summer assignment. Note that I'm a sophomore in high school, so don't expect it to sound like an English major wrote it. Also, it's about a mentor of mine, dead or alive. I chose Jesus, and I hope that the atheists on here are unbiased enough to give a good review.

Can we program a semi-anon variant to decrease likelihood of multi and meta cheaters?
The variant will show who's playing but not what country he or she is playing. Then the players are able to spot metagamers and possibly multi cheaters right away.
Please give feedback on idea and feasibility.

I just wanted to publicly recognize Geofram for sitting for me for an extended period of time in which I had no time to properly pursue my Diplomacy games. He stepped up when I didn't have anyone to ask and ensured my opponents had an opponent instead of a CD.

Why post this in the forum? He deserves the kudos, and anyone who thinks more highly of him for this is icing on the cake.
