The U.S. may disguise it's Authoritarianism in Democracy, but there is no democracy. The politicians decide things, not us. Although they are elected, it is still Authoritarianism. Here's why: Even if we vote them out, someone else will come in that wants basically the same things. We have no say except to decide who the rules come from.

@hellalt: Anarcho-capitalism is not the current system, if it was, there would be no government. Capitalism is the current system, and it works better than any other system we have come up with (except for anarcho-capitalism, which has worked in the past. You would know that if you had read my links.) for reasons I have already explained.

I will retrack the "idiot" statement, but I question if you are deliberately being obtuse or if you just can't see the flaws in assuming that somehow the sheeple of the world would suddenly rise up without any weapons and take down the most powerful corporation on the earth who had military might fully armed. Corporations build the tanks, not thepeople, therefore the corporations control the tanks.

The only reason anarchism will never work is because people are basically evil, want to control and manipulate other people. Also, anarchism is about being independent and free but most people prefer acting like sheep.

Yes, I'm back, but only to post this and to say: Read my links! They are on page 1, and they give a better argument than I do.

Getting back to the PDA's. Why would a PDA lose costumers if they let murderers go free because they were within the PDA? The fact of the matter is that they *wouldn't* lose any customers unless someone WITHIN the PDA killed another person of the same PDA. THEN, and only then, would they be absolutely forced to apprehend the criminal in order to maintain client safety. It's just plain stupid.

And whoever's been talking about the US being authoritarian; get your freakin names straight. As of now America is an INDIRECT REPUBLIC (just like Draug said). We elect people who then vote for us. The problem with our current system is that we only have TWO parties dominating the stands. It would be much better to be more like Europe and have anywhere from 3 to 17 parties running for offices and getting news coverage/media time.

Despite Hellalt's reputaion here, I definitely have to say that I agree with him that Anarchy will never actually work on a large scale.

Read 'em and they are full of flawed assumptions like the inately good nature of man or the ability for the masses to overcome the powerful in a modern society where one man with an M-60 can gun down hundreds and only the corporations will have the guns.

I think you have really misunderstood what anarchism is.
Anarchism is about letting people handle their lifes, instead of political parties, governments, systems, money etc

It's more just commentary on radical political discussion. Lots of things are good in principle but I haven't seen many alternate ideas of government that sound like they'd actually be good in practice.
