I love chaos! Hard to ever get a game off the ground though

It would be easier on webdip, since there are more people here

If we add Chaos though, then we won't ever be able to get Classic games going!

Why don't we just replace Classic with Chaos?

There's only room for one Europe WW1 map.

I just played my first two 1 v 1 on vDip (I v G). I think that and A v F would be great additions here! It would make it much easier for new players (or anyone) to get a game started quickly, and I believe both these variants will really help newer players to better learn and understand the Classic Map (the map of focus for webDip).

I agree that too many multi-player variants dilutes games played, so I don't have a comment on the World variants. However, adding Duo as a perfectly balanced third 1 v 1 variant also seems to have a lot of support and I don't think a third 1 v 1 variant will adversely dilute games, since it only takes two players to fill.

One more plus 1 and we have our game.

Instead of scuttling the world map variant because it is too buggy, why not fix the bugs?

I'd agree, 1v1 games don't really dilute much and we can afford to add more as time goes on.

I say get rid of Ancient Med if we want a 1v1.

Disagree Leon - Im sure the Mods can give us the heads up but I am betting more World Games are disrupted by NMRs etc than Ancient Med - game quality should be the governing factor surely?

World games are interesting and fun. Ancient Med is boring.

Aside from being my favorite variant map, it's very well balanced and is great for a small group of new players to learn the game. I think there's room for both AncMed and 1v1.

Based on what I've seen so far, I think we have strong support to do the following:

1. Adding France vs Austria, Germany vs Italy (two 1v1 maps), and
2. Replacing World Dip with another variant (Known World 901)
3. Adding Chaos

We'll start with these and see how they go. Are we good with this?

4. Pure

There are some concerns about adding chaos and whether this will be good for site health. I am going to direct the chaos petitioners here to have a serious discussion about whether we should include chaos and why we should not.

Concerns: chaos is a 34 player variant and considering how hard it is to find 7 serious players I think the time committed to porting chaos onto this site could be used for another more useful variant like FOW, Build Anywhere, or a few 1v1 variants.

I do however support the idea of Webdip sponsored vdip games with banner adds on this site directing players to the vdip landing page. This should satisfy the sites thirst for a few chaos games without taking up loads of dev time.

Well, Chaos is a very fun variant which encompasses many elements of the game. No longer do you have only 1 or 2 choices of allies. And to survive in this variant you need to group with multiple countries and form super alliances. The discussion and diplomacy involved with being in larger alliances is a lot of fun, and you really feel like one world leader trying to work with many allies while at the same time, timing your stabs so you stay relevant in the end game.

I'll wait to hear the concerns before responding to them. I don't think the concern about it being hard to fill is that bad since if it doesn't fill, it's not like there's a net loss that takes place to the site. With that logic we should ban all world games for being hard to fill.
