lol.

@SuperSteve

so among my friends ever since i was like 10 i have been like threatening to kill them, threatening all kinds of violence and basically playing the part of a pure evil maniac.

what's funny is that as much as they know i would never ever do something like that, sometimes i'm around them and someone who doesnt know me as well and they dont always know i'm not serious.

and when i do it online or on text or whatever we always joke that the phone is tapped or the government is reading my emails.

the funniest part is i can just imagine like the FBI interviewing my friends saying like how can you be sure he was never planning to send someone anthrax and they just go like

"well he just never does that sort of thing. i mean granted he is always talking about it, but we just dont take it seriously. i mean... you just have to know him to know he's not serious"

some defense.

im like always threatening to burn down their houses or send them anthrax or kidnap their families. idk why its just funny.

i bet even you guys wont really understand. lol

CM, I have to ask, why do you care what your fellow students talk about between classes?

Also, your continuing fascination with drinking and partying tends to leave the impression that you're interested in trying these things, but aren't sure what the proper course of action is to be able to experience them, or what exactly the draw is to these activities.
@vamo: I'm continually "fascinated" with those things because I find it very depressing that my fellow students would do those sorts of things without any regard to future consequences. It's just dumb, and it seems the people who generally don't do dumb things (like me) are in the minority, which is depressing to me.
vamosrammstein (757 D(B))

I know it seems like you're the only one who isn't "getting hella wasted" in your school, but trust me, it's not as widespread as you think it is.

I'm going to assume that by "dumb things" you're referring to what some high school kids would call a party, which would involve some awful and cheap alcohol, perhaps some weed or other mild illegal drug, and the occasional casual hookup or two.

The thing is, a decent amount of kids in high school who attend or throw those types of "parties" on a regular basis feel the need to announce that fact to the rest of the world, so that you will look at them with fascination or jealousy or whatever other interest you have in their activities. No kid in high school announces that he spent the weekend sitting at home reading a book, or with his family, or working, or doing anyone of a million other things besides "partying".

On the other hand, high schoolers are more than willing to announce that they got "hella wasted" over the weekend, in order to draw attention to themselves. I guarantee you the overwhelming majority of kids at your school aren't involved in those things whatsoever, but the difference is that they don't flaunt their lack of participation.

This makes it seem like when the bell rings on friday and you go home, everyone else runs to someone's basement and gets "hella wasted", when in reality, you maybe have 30-40 kids who are involved.

I realize it doesn't seem this way, but trust me, there are a lot more kids like you out there than you realize, they're just harder to find than the overly vocal and flamboyant "partiers"

That's how I always found my high school to be anyway, has anyone else had similar experiences?

@Conservatie Man.....hillarious that, in other threads, you have tried to impress us by naming the "academy" that you attend, and giving us the gory details of your class titles. Now you tell us that you school is full of a bunch of drunks and high-ons...(or whatever you call them these days.).

Thanks for telling us that, despite your previous claims to the contrary, you are just a dick at a school, and not some super-special smarty-pants. 'Cause if you are going to school with a bunch of dicks that got sooooo wasted last night, then you clearly are wasting your money....and we are clearly soooooo not impressed with your prevous credentials (which i was never impressed with to begin with...) But thanks for being honest enough to (mistakenly) admit that you are just some average, run-of-the-mill prick.
Thucydides (864 D(B))

@Thucy....which is why I *MOCK* stupid children that think people should have respect for the psuedo-intellectualism of spoiled brats attending private schools. CopnservativeMan loves to **portray** himself as someone with experience and wisdom....but, in fact, he is just some douche-bag kid at a party school, so it seems.

When he gets a job and pays taxes and actually understands the financial system he so vehemently comments on, I *might* respect him. But party-boy CM....what a douche-bag.

krellin, saying that a school where some of the students are partying losers is a waste of money is ridiculous. Every college has a low end and a high end of students, this does not make a school any less prestigious or any less of a value then any other school. You may as well say that any city where you can buy drugs is a dump. It's ridiculous because every city in America has a drug problem of some sort. Furthermore, putting ** around your words, placing the commas in the wrong spots, and misspelling your words really hurts your argument stating that another person is lacking in wisdom or experience.

krellin (80 DX)
26 Aug 11 UTC
@JMO....thank you for your support. In other words, this school is just an everage grouping of individuals. The fancy name, the class list, etc, have nothing to do with the person's attending. Some of the gradates will succeed....others will be losers....just like in ANY high school.

I appreciate you *supporting* my argument, even if you are too stupid to grasp how you have been used. That has been my point AL along, duimbass.
jmo1121109 (3812 D)
26 Aug 11 UTC
And yet again krellin has managed to misconstrue a comment. All I said was that a single factor common to all schools, in this case drunken losers, does not impact the schools overall quality. That is all. There are plenty of ways that his school could be superior to other schools, from curriculum to the devotion of the teachers to better counseling support systems. All of those factors are going to impact success rate in the school. Sure some of the graduates will fail, but probably less then in a typical school with less resources and ability to help the students.
I understand any subtlety in my posts is probably lost on you in your typical...state...but please, do not put words in my mouth.

"That's how I always found my high school to be anyway, has anyone else had similar experiences?"
@vamos, agreed. I heard endless "I'm so hungover" and "that party was amazing" during my high school years, but it only ever came from the same group of people. Most of the students had not actually gone to more then 1 of these "amazing" parties that matched exactly what you described.
Invictus (240 D)

"You can't even imagine it Invictus? Come on dude you're not that old."

I didn't mean to sound so crotchety. It's just that the limited universe of me drinking in high school felt so wild and fun at the time, while now a night like that would be worse than nothing.

But I do feel hella old right now. In PSYCH 100 I'm not just the only senior, I'm the only upperclassman. There's a reason to do GenEds right away...
"i know a girl from a private school like that and she and her friends basically drank in class" And the teacher let them? wtf?
Hugo_Stiglitz (100 D)
26 Aug 11 UTC
How is drinking "dumb"?
I for one, drink nearly every day and i'm reasonably succesful. As a matter of fact, my initial goal in life was to make enough money to facilitate my drinking/ cannabis usage.
As long as you're not hurting anybody, it's your own cross to bear.
@Hugo: Yeah, it's your choice, and I for one choose to not do something that could easily lead to me doing things I'll regret later.
Hugo_Stiglitz (100 D)
26 Aug 11 UTC
Then why complain when others do it?
I'm all for not drinking, but not if you feel it gives you some sort of morale high ground fom which to criticize others.
"lol dude krellin i dont know if you knew this but smart kids at exclusive schools party the hardest.

i know a girl from a private school like that and she and her friends basically drank in class "

I know a kid in a public university that drank in class, and he might be typing this right now. You all never experienced the power lecture? Starts a Thursday night off right!
I'm not criticizing it, it just depresses me that most of society does something that I consider dumb, without even giving it a second thought. They view drinking as a given. When I tell people I'm never going to drink, they look at me like I'm crazy. Like no sane person would ever make that decision. And that depresses me.
Hugo_Stiglitz (100 D)
26 Aug 11 UTC
I never did show up to class drunk -stoned off my ass, yes- but not much drinking

.....unless of course you count the semi-drunk hangover
drinking is fun... thats why alot of society does it... How could you possibly judge it if you haven't tried it.
Hugo_Stiglitz (100 D)
26 Aug 11 UTC
@CM

Listen buddy, here's a bit of advice from somebody who's more than twice your elder. It's gonna sound a bit harsh, but it's coming from a position of genuinely wanting to help you out:

People are assholes, deal with it
Hugo_Stiglitz (100 D)
26 Aug 11 UTC
And I choose to deal with it by being happily high/drunk about 90% of the time.
It slows the brain down, makes things more tolerable, dulls the crippling depression, the whole bit.
