I know it seems like you're the only one who isn't "getting hella wasted" in your school, but trust me, it's not as widespread as you think it is.
I'm going to assume that by "dumb things" you're referring to what some high school kids would call a party, which would involve some awful and cheap alcohol, perhaps some weed or other mild illegal drug, and the occasional casual hookup or two.
The thing is, a decent amount of kids in high school who attend or throw those types of "parties" on a regular basis feel the need to announce that fact to the rest of the world, so that you will look at them with fascination or jealousy or whatever other interest you have in their activities. No kid in high school announces that he spent the weekend sitting at home reading a book, or with his family, or working, or doing anyone of a million other things besides "partying".
On the other hand, high schoolers are more than willing to announce that they got "hella wasted" over the weekend, in order to draw attention to themselves. I guarantee you the overwhelming majority of kids at your school aren't involved in those things whatsoever, but the difference is that they don't flaunt their lack of participation.
This makes it seem like when the bell rings on friday and you go home, everyone else runs to someone's basement and gets "hella wasted", when in reality, you maybe have 30-40 kids who are involved.
I realize it doesn't seem this way, but trust me, there are a lot more kids like you out there than you realize, they're just harder to find than the overly vocal and flamboyant "partiers"
That's how I always found my high school to be anyway, has anyone else had similar experiences?
