The GR sheet contains rating (score) and ranking (position). You want to list the latter. The October sheet is the most recent.

For those with a lot of missed moves, make sure you can free the time necessary to commit to this! Due to the added communication with your TA, it will require more time than a normal Press game. I'd estimate twice as much.

Thank you Clawsar. As a TA I can attest to how frustrating it is to commit to months of work only to have your student go dark.

It's a time commitment, but as a former student myself, I will say it is totally worth it!

I can also TA if necessary. Do profs get access to private chat?

No, they do not. Profs comment in the forum on the moves, focussing on education of course, but merely guessing at the diplomacy going on behind the scenes.

TAs work together closely as a tutor for one of the seven players in the SoW game. They likely hear about (some of) the communication from the appointed student, and advise them on anything their pupil would like help with.

Also, usually, Profs have to be at the very top of the GR list, with a ranking <30ish.

Can people from the South be professors?

For obvious reasons, that's not allowed.

Not sure what level of play is considered "experienced." I would guess that I'm not that so maybe the SoW game is for me

1) It's for you if you'd like it to be! Unless your name is ghug.
Basically, if you think you could benefit greatly from comments/tips on your plays, then you've come to the right place.
2) You have 2 games completed, so I'd agree this is for you ;)

can I join?

The School of War game is best suited to players who have already played a few games and already understand the rules well. The purpose is to help players who find they really enjoyed learning the game to improve their Diplomacy skills and bring their play up to the next level.

The Study Group game is more suited for players who have played a lot, perhaps having already been in a regular SoW game, and would like to bring their level of play up to compete with the top players on the site.

Keep in mind that these games are heavier time commitments than most other games on the site. First, since people in these games are trying to improve their play, we strive for high quality. That requires putting in extra effort. There is also the time commitment for reading and understanding lectures from professors, and communicating with your TA.
We also do not tolerate missing moves. If you NMR (No Moves Received) in a School of War game, it is unlikely you would be invited to participate in a future instalment.

These new mods have no respect for the ones who came before.
