Don't panic Mr Cameron .... just keep calm and carry on
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-28967904
Cameron is so arrogant he won't change but today it was announced that net migration to the UK was 243,000 last year, Cameron has promised 50,000. He and his Old Etonian cronies seem to be the only people that don't realize there is a problem ..... he talks tough but acts like a pussy !!

Behaviorism
According to Wikipedia, “The behaviorist school of thought maintains that behaviors as such can be described scientifically without recourse either to internal physiological events or to hypothetical constructs such as thoughts and beliefs.”

Do you think this is appropriate? If so, does that make you optimistic or pessimistic about the prospects for human happiness?

Fairly Cheap Website Hosting and Webdesign
€7,50/month, €90/year to host a site with up to 5 GB of space and monthly bandwidth, my help when needed, many 1-click installations, webmail accounts for your domain, excellent reliability and English support. Easy. Quite all-inclusive except domain registration. That’s £5,99/month or $9.93/month. International transactions cost a bit too. Prices change. You can make me a personal offer. Price for webdesign depends on workload but think 3 digits. More inside.

What would happen if...
What would happen if I convoy an army from Belgium to Holland using my fleet in the north sea as well as order my other fleet at Holland to move to Belgium, simultaneously?
Is this possible?

PS: I know it would be same as ordering F:Hol->North Sea, F:North Sea-> Bel, A:Bel->Hol; but just curious. ;)

Gunboat support moves
I'm in a no messaging anonymous player game where I was dislodged because one player supported another into my territory. How common is it that without messaging a player would know the exact move to make to assist another? Should I report this to the mods? It just seems suspicious as there theoretically shouldn't be a way for the two players to communicate....

Pointing out your hypocrisy is the race card now? Alright.

No, capers on a bagel and lox. What do they add?
Putin33 (111 D)
23 Aug 14 UTC
Flavor. Not something you're familiar with, clearly.

"Pointing out your hypocrisy is the race card now?"

What hypocrisy? So I'm a hypocrite because I criticize a tribe for their commercial activity? Who are you, Krellin?
Invictus (240 D)
23 Aug 14 UTC
I'm not familiar with flavor because I can't pick out the flavor of capers on my bagel and lox? I like capers, I just don't know what they add here. The cream cheese and lox buries their taste if they're lucky to not fall off.

If krellin had written something like that you'd rightly call him out on that. But the rules don't apply to you since, I don't know. Whales are magic?
KingCyrus (511 D)
23 Aug 14 UTC
Invictus, if you can't taste capers with lox, you aren't buying strong enough capers! The brininess of the caper really works well with the cream cheese, and enhanced by the smoky flavor of the salmon.
Invictus (240 D)
23 Aug 14 UTC
I've only gotten it at delis and restaurants. I like lox and capers, but not really enough to buy them myself.

But thanks, that's all I was looking for.

KingCyrus (511 D)

Putin33 (111 D)
24 Aug 14 UTC
There should be if you're telling us all to buy from whale killers.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
24 Aug 14 UTC
Are you particularly surprised that a native tribe with relatively typical coastal indigenous customs in an area of the world that was once full of whales of all kinds (now home to just a few and few of them, unfortunately) would practice whaling? It's not like salmon are faring particularly well either.
Putin33 (111 D)
24 Aug 14 UTC
Am I surprised? No. Should I endorse it? Hell no. And you're right about wild salmon. They're being overfished.
KingCyrus (511 D)
24 Aug 14 UTC
Does the one guy who runs THFC hunt whales? Do we know that for a fact?
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
24 Aug 14 UTC
Fair enough.

Most salmon fisheries are adjusting their catch to the dwindling populations. It's the simple fact that dams keep getting built in nesting grounds and blocking the way back up the rivers that are really hurting them. Overfishing wouldn't be nearly as much of an issue if not for the dams.
Putin33 (111 D)
24 Aug 14 UTC
And actually the Makah are unique in that they are the only tribe given a legal right to kill whales by the US government.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
24 Aug 14 UTC
Regardless, assuming they're still hunting no more than their one baleen whale a year, are they really doing irreparable harm? Isn't it more productive to fight something like the dams blocking salmon nesting grounds as opposed to this?

"It's just.. man, it's a thread about cooking fish..."

Smoking fish.
Putin33 (111 D)
24 Aug 14 UTC
People can walk and chew gum at the same time. But it's more than just one whale and they want to kill gray whales, orcas, and humpbacks. And their success at getting 'cultural exceptions' for killing whales makes whale hunting that more easier for the Japanese, the Norwegians and everybody else. It weakens the law against whaling.
semck83 (229 D(B))
24 Aug 14 UTC
Putin,

Source for their killing more than one whale a year?
Invictus (240 D)
24 Aug 14 UTC
Uh, what's wrong with whaling? If it's done sustainably, what makes it different than fishing for any other ocean animal?
Putin33 (111 D)
24 Aug 14 UTC
http://www.naiaonline.org/articles/article/makah-indians-prepare-for-first-whale-hunt-in-70-years

Because the whale population has been depleted, Invictus and it's illegal not to mention particularly barbaric and cruel.
Putin33 (111 D)
24 Aug 14 UTC
Can we just dispense with all the posturing that any of you care if the whale population is exterminated? Which is especially hilarious (disgusting) in light of the fact that you people cry crocodile tears over human embryos.

Humans are #1
Putin33 (111 D)
24 Aug 14 UTC
Japan has used the 'scientific research' exception to murder 1000+ whales a year.
Putin33 (111 D)
24 Aug 14 UTC
"Humans are #1"

The world will collectively dance when humans finally manage to kill ourselves off.
Invictus (240 D)
24 Aug 14 UTC
http://iwc.int/status

According to the International Whaling Commission many species are robustly rebounding. All of the whale species mentioned in the link show growth rates. So it's a canard that they're on the brink of extermination.

So why is it particularly worse to fish for a whale than to fish for a fish?
Invictus (240 D)
24 Aug 14 UTC
(+1)
"Murder" a whale? I see what's really going on here. I was right before. You think whales are magic and that it's just wrong to hunt them at all.
Universally condemned? I didn't condemn anyone and as far as I know, I'm part of the universe.

I like smoked salmon in salad.
tendmote (100 D(B))
24 Aug 14 UTC
The overfishing has been taken to insane levels; you need so much more tackle to pull in the same haul as you could in decades past. Whaling is cruel and probably unsustainable as well. Still, I don't see what this has to do with human embryos. Also, humans are still #1; we cannot lose site of that priority.

Forum Thread Stars
Until recently, when you had posted in a thread, a star would appear next to the thread title on your screen, so that when you were scanning the forum, you'd quickly be able to see which threads you were involved in.

Now those little stars are gone. How come?
