I see no problem at all with the wording of said message. But if someone disagrees, the grownup way to deal with this would have been to talk about it with damian himself, and not tell him to go fuck himself and then post the whole story -including your brave answer so everyone knos how tough you are - on the forum ...
This would also have saved time of several other mods or admins who will now waste it on a case of potentially wrong choice of words that could have been resolved in a simple PM ...

Do you care to explain what "the grownup way" would have been then? Because it's hard to imagine anything being more likely to get you silenced in response than "This is your official warning to go fuck yourself," which clearly did not result in a silence. Somehow I'm highly skeptical that a level-headed response would have gotten you silenced but posting a passive-aggressive thread on the forum about the incident wouldn't have.

The way I understand his message there was no silencing implied. He was just tellingboth of you to cool down a bit. Now english is not my first language, but until now I believed 'I don't give a shit about ...' to mean 'Idon't care about...', just with a less formal choice of words. Thats why I see no problem in the wording of that message, but do see a problem in 'go fuck yourself'

Id like to point out that the last time I tried to point out mod abuse, "The gentleman way" by PM, I sent several PMs, the mod got angry, told me to take a flying leap, that I had no case, but said if I insisted I should send a message via E-mail yadda yadda yadda.

12 E-mails later the head mod saw it my way and asked me not to talk about it.

This is much more efficient

I'm glad, it was intended that way.

I can guarantee you that if threads routinely get made on the forum to contest these decisions you're just going to get back "email the mod acct at [email protected] and we'll look at it." This might have been more efficient the one time, but I wouldn't anticipate it as a regular response.

All the mods have silencing power, so if he'd wanted to silence you he had the ability. I'm not saying that as if he used some extraordinary, commendable restraint in *not* silencing you, simply pointing out that the fact that you're still posting pretty obviously points to this statement being incorrect: "The grownup way would have got me silenced with out an opportunity to explain."

Last time I approached a mod when I was reprimanded for posting a satire thread, I point blank asked him why a satire thread of mine got me silenced but a satire thread of (pre mod) President Eden's, that was just like mine, did not get him silenced. The mod in question explained carefully that if he silenced President Eden the community would get angry. The mod in question then refused to reconsider his action, told me I had no case and then sent me to have a correspondence with Zoltar.

I learned my lesson, the mods have favorites, they treat them better and I was obviously not one of Damian's favorites, so I brought this to the forum. Turns out it was a good move.

By the way, Zoltar agreed with me.

I've been finding the drama here fascinating lately. From my perspective, SC is acting remarkably childish. A mod uses a mildly offensive word choice, and SC responds with very offensive wording and demands acknowledgement of the terrible thing that happened to him. The kicker is the mods did acknowledge it so now he's forced to find other things to complain about. Wow.

I'd like to offer my apology to you as well Santa. When I wrote the post to you I felt like my warning was too severe sounding. I added in a bit of casual swearing because I was trying to make the message read like, it's not a big deal.
