I'm thinking it's going to have to be pokerstars or 888poker.... it does require a login and download but it's relatively straightforward to create a private tournament, shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to set up.

More details will follow.

I have decided on a cool prize too... it's a surprise, but it has a cash value of $15.00. Maybe if we have fun we can do it again and somebody else will buy the prize.

The game will be no limit hold 'em with accelerating blinds timed so it will take ~2-3 hours.

To clarify... I have a 2PM Eastern appointment for one of the dogs at the vet so I need to be wrapped by 1:30 or can't start until 3:00.

How many you planning on having, YJ? A 10 player sit-n-go with 20 minutes levels can be wrapped in 2 hours (no need for the 3rd usually).

There is no logistical parallel between webDip games and poker so I don't know how that works in your mind, and anyway, if anyone on this list is better at throwing games than I am, it's Draug.

I'll play if you call on me. I'm 17, so I'd understand if you choose not to let me in though. (Though there is no reason legally I couldn't play; I just couldn't accept a prize if I win or put anything in.)

As for scheduling, I can play as long as you guys don't hold this on the 24th or 31st or during a school day (obviously).

Well, accpeting the prize as long as it is of negligible value or your parents give you permission/accept it for you is no different than playing McDonald's Monopoly. But no, you couldn't put in anything obviously.

And I don't throw games. I use chainsaw diplomacy to make certain I make it to the draw. But you are correct that there is a big difference between a game that involves cooperation and well timed stabs and the way you play Diplomacy :-) just kidding. Had to say it, but yeah Dip and poker are very different games as collusion is required in one and banned in the other.

I don't know about the .Nets, if they allow 17 year olds or not. But his dad could and him use his dad's accoutn with dad's permission.

This thread has rekindled my PokerStars interest. Brilliant. That particular site requires you to be 18.

Draug, there are two lies on the internet. One is that you've read the terms and conditions. The other is that you're 18/21 years or older. No one cares if either of these criteria are actually met.

And yeah, I'd use my dad's account. We've shared it for years.

noone cares for 18/21 usually, but sometimes with gambling sites they check things a bit more carefully. no problem if you would use your dad's though

I'm not really sure how they'd check it anyway. My IP leads back to my parents' info and my ISP wouldn't differentiate between my computer and another in the house.

My dad offered to make me an account under his name, though, so I'll take that up with him if I'm in.

Credit card, bo. Soem sites even ask for photocopies of drivers licenses (to collect any winnings on ClubWPT.com, you have to submit a notarized photocopy of your driver's license).

Well, if they do that, I probably can't play.

As long as your dad does all verifications, you should be fine.

I am hoping to get a full ten (or more) people in the club before I bother trying to sort out what time we should play, so check your emails for the link from me for how to join the club after you register your pokerstars account. After I'm convinced everybody who is interested has already joined the club, I'll make a doodle poll to get us started on setting up a tournament.

Oh, and Bo we aren't playing for money, and the prize is trivial. So long as your Pop is OK with it you aren't doing anything worrisome. If you don't want the prize and you win I'll give it to #2 person.
