Help! I'm new!
Hi everyone, I just joined this site a couple days ago. I understand relatively how to play Diplomacy, but I've only played in real life before. Typically, I've never been able to round up many friends to play the game because it takes so long, but I've played some games. Can anyone direct me to any resources so I can learn to play better? Sorry if there was a post like this, but I couldn't find it.

MLB Playoffs
Well fellas, we're down to the last day. The Mariners' drought continues, the Cards continue to somehow stay in it, the Jays thank the Lord finally get a win to push them to the #1 spot. The Nats also clinched home field advantage over the Dodgers.

Any WS predictions? Is it really the Cubs' year? Can the Dodgers finally make it? Who's going to surprise? My money is on the Jays duelling it out with the Giants, but of course I have a strong bias. What do you all think?

Purely anecdotal....but I live next door to a big beefy UAW Union technician that works for FCA. In any normal situation, this hard-working blue-collar dude wouldn't possibly dream of voting for a Republican. it's antithetical to his belief system, given the typical conflicts between Unions and the Republican party.

He and his wife are *strongly* in the tank for Trump this year, as are many of his union brothers.

If he were to early vote, with his Democrat registration, the FRADULENT MEDIA PUKES would look at his registration, and say "Oh...Democrat voter...." and put one on the box for Hillary.

FUCK THAT SHIT.

All of the *amazingly* biased polls, and suggetsions that they know who is voting for whom in the early voting are just further attempts by the media to INFLUENCE THE ELECTION. There is NO POSSIBLE WAY they know the actual results of this early voting....but that won't stop them from trying to influence the attitudes and behaviors of those that have not yet voted.

Frankly, it ought to be CRIMINALIZED for the media to report any information on early voting, including he numbers and/or make-up of the registered voters who have voted....

I can't wit to laugh my assess off at how wrong the media gets the actual results....even as they desparately try to correct their known-fraudulent poll results in these last days as they desparaetly shift from their massively over-democrat-sampled biased lies to something more accurate...

...even today, the polls that are starting to show the corrected samples are showing Trump tied/in the margin of error to winning. lol too hillarious...

these facts arent even in dispute. you found one union loving outlier and mass applied his trump support into the majority. purely anecdotal example.

Poor little delusional brainbomb....

Your assertion that "Registered Democrats won't ever vote Republican" is sheer idiocy....but it does reveal what a mind-numbed thoughtless baboon you are, that you are so lacking intelligence that you can't possibly imagine ever voting outside the party.

Particularly since history betrays the lie of your assertion, you are that much more of a fool, and those that think like you.

and if that is your true belief -- that nobody can/should ever cross party lines, then YOU are why this country is becoming the political hell-hole that it is....that you place party loyalty above the siply concept of intelligent, thoughtful voting.

Pathetic. Truly pathetic.

"krellin 97% of registered republicans are solid for Trump. 98% of registered democrats (latinos, blacks, women, college voters) are solidly for Hillary."

Here is another bit of anecdotal voting information. I am personal friend with the head of Democrats for Life - a woman that has worked her entire career for Democrat politicians on legislative staffs, etc, and now chairs an organization that influences the democrat party platform and has a seat at the convention.

She, as well as *many* of her diad-in-the-wool Democrats party insiders, have vowed to not vote for Killary.

These are people that are *deeply entrenched* in the party....not just "average moron american voters"....and they are refusing to cast a vote for Hillary.

Now, admitedly, they are voting third party or writing in a candidate - but the idea that party insiders won't vote for Hillary again utterly betray brainbomb's childish notion that evreyone that's a Democrat must and only will vote for Democrats.

Ohhhh...the sheer and utter joy I will achieve when I mock you endlessly and viciously post-election until I am silenced or banned...

Trump is losing more Republicans, than Clinton is losing Democrats. I understand you can be skeptical of that, but in the end, it matters little. the battleground states matter, and Trump needs to step it up a notch to win. He needs something brazen to draw in support.

@Krellin

I have some anecdotal evidence

I once knew a Democrat, who decided to vote for Trump. then, I heard about ANOTHER Democrat who changed his mind.

so yeah, I guess you're right. Trump is going to win. How can you deny it? Do you just believe the media? THE BIAS IS OBVIOUS.

Nobody likes her: she's pure evil!!! I've never met a Democrat who would vote for her. it's ALL RIGGED and sooooo fraudulent

It really is massivley hillarious to watch these angry democrats spit and sizzle in their hot pants.

Dear little boys and girls and whatever else you are compromised of....IF you have it in the bag, IF it is a sure thing, and the Hillary victory is a certainty...WHY ARE YOU SO ANGRY? Why are you so desperately trying to convince yourselves that it must be so?

lol Good lord, I've never seen such a bunch of desparate angry victors in all my life...

.....unless....

.....unles deep in the recesses of your tiny, almost non-existent souls their lies an itty-bitty seed of honesty, and, small thought it is, when it forces its light to shine about your ridiculous beliefs, even the overwhelming killary-demon that controls you must admit that....shit.....things aren't looking for the old criminal the demoncrats have decided to let run...

sigh....I wonder if you might all just self-combust, from all the rage tht fuels your pretend-victory dances....

webDiplomacy continues to lose players
The number of players listed each month in the Ghostratings continues to decline. Every year, there is a peak around May/June. We peaked in 2011 with 3,571 players, and steadily lost players from then to now (if you don't count the 2013-2014 inflated numbers anomaly). This last May peak we hit 2,503. At this rate, I figure there will be seven of us left in 2029.

Frostweaver's Personal Comments on Live Gunboat-483
Just a note: I'm not playing in the game, just spectating and inputting my personal comments on the game's moves.

Classic opening moves were made by all countries - except for Turkey. Seems Turkey is susceptible to Russian retaliation from the Black Sea. Also quite interesting how Britain and France strayed away from the English Channel.
