Extend option - covers most pause needs, with an automatic resume and the ability for players to proceed beforehand by all finalizing orders.

And I second the cost reduction for CD takeover. I am much more likely to take over a CD on vDip than here, because of this.

Let's see if we can be systematic about this.

Just one- HALF price cost to buy into CD abandoned game. CD's disrupt the game quality and are rarely picked up. Simple supply and demand. Lower price, more will buy in to CD position.

At the end of a gunboat we could have a global text box appear so that all players can exchange views on the game (an in-game E.O.G.) without clogging up the forum, then if we want to share it we could post a link to the forum for others to read.
Also we can have a feature when playing gunboats that prevents known meta-gamers entering, then you can either turn it on or off when creating the game. Then you don't have to ban multis and meta-gamers, just let them play each other.

Not to discuss here (don't want to derail) but why remove the last on, THM? It only appears on non-anon and you can just as easily click on the person's name and see it in their profile.

If people have to leave a game due to an emergency they could advertise anonymously for a replacement before they CD so that it doesn't leave the in-coming replacement player at a disadvantage

Confirm dialogue box when voting (cancel, draw, pause, etc.) and also when joining games.

I vote for #3 in the ongoing list and against #4. I would also like to add two more:

10. Contingent takeovers. An observer can submit contingent orders for a power that is marked as "missed last phase". If the original player misses the second phase he is immediately booted, the contingent orders are processed and the new player takes over more or less seamlessly.

11. "Grey Press" - The ability to post anonymous press in the "Global" window for both full press and public press only games. This could be a toggle (all public press is either anonymous or not) or it could be a per-post feature (allowing for both anonymous and country-identified press). If the latter, it could be extended to private press also in full-press games ... that is, the ability to send a private message to another player without that player being told who sent the message.

I also withdraw my objection to #4 *IF* it is limited to games that are in some way non-standard. In short, excluding informal variants prevents distortion of GR, but exclusion of normal games *is* a distortion.
