An All-Male Discussion on Feminism, "Feminism," and Atheism...This Should Be Fun...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKKQdJR7F_I Frankly, I think that's a fair point--these people do NOT represent a very good side of either feminism or atheism, in my opinion...there's Feminism, and then there's "Feminism" or, as it might otherwise be put, "Demanding that everyone agree with your views full stop or else libeling them." Real feminism and real atheism is, I think, being somewhat "poisoned" by this increasingly-smug, self-assured band of PC Police.

CD or hold everything?
I'm in a gunboat at the moment where one of the players - who has no shot at winning anymore - has decided to hold every turn giving SCs to the largest player, in effect throwing the game. I'd prefer if he would just CD so we can get somebody else. Are there any (un)written good practices?

Might I suggest that we try being kind to our new Moslem friend? No doubt he will calm down a lot once we demonstrate our good manners, as well as respect for his religious beliefs. I for one believe that Christians and Moslems can live together side by side, in peace.

"its always fucking weirdoes that use the "Moslem" spelling. what's the deal with that?"

"Moslem" is how the Turks say it. Until recent decades, the primary contact western scholars and diplomats had with the Islamic world was with Turkey and Turks. Hence a lot of the terminology used in the west about Islam (especially stuff written up to the mid 20th century) has been Turkified - "Moslem" instead of the more Arabic pronunciation of "Muslim", "Mosque" instead of "Masjid", etc. Since Islam is not an Arab religion, neither word is 'wrong', any more than 'Χριστιανός' is more correct than "Christian", although I do get the impression that some people use "Moslem" because they think it's some kind of insult.

The Qur'an was revealed in pure Arabic language therefore anyone who wishes to read the Quran properly must learn and read it in Arabic. Also, the Qur'an was revealed with tajweed and the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah upon him, recited the Qur'an with tajweed. Now is a good time for everyone who doesn't know what tajweed is to kill themselves. It will save us a lot of misunderstanding. Good.

So while Islam is not a religion of Arabs but of all muslims, resisting Arabization is but a tomfooled fucktardery.

"Until recent decades,"

Yeah I know, lol. But it's not 1975 anymore so I don't know why people still say it.

It would be like some toolbag stubbornly referring to Europe as "Christendom" even in totally secular contexts, and calling anyone from China a "Chinaman"

Muhammad started a violent religion. He encouraged war against the Byzantines, he said to kill Christians and Jews, and he said to destroy Hagia Sophia (mission accomplished in 1453--if you read about the atrocities of that day you will be shocked). As opposed to "Love your neighbor as yourself" --Jesus Christ.
Thucydides (864 D(B))
14 Jan 13 UTC
Is the way to peace really to alienate and radicalize peaceful people by denouncing their religion as violent? I'm not convinced.

Your rhetoric reeks of 2002.
Thucydides (864 D(B))
14 Jan 13 UTC
Also... the Hagia Sophia wasn't destroyed???

Btw have you read the Qu'ran bro? I'd put it on roughly equal part with the Bible in terms of asshole statements/profound statements. What I will say is that it is a lot more boring than the Bible is. Maybe that's just because the stories are badly translated.
Sbyvl36 (439 D)
14 Jan 13 UTC
Hagia Sophia was desecrated. Close enough. And most religions recognize Islam as violent. Christians, Jews, Hindus, and even Atheists.

Also, might I remind you that Muslims danced in the streets throughout the Middle East on 9/11?

Turkey should cede all bases to NATO Italy for the establishment of missile defense systems. Greece is a protectorate of Italy. The English and Germans should immediately place embargos on Russia in the event of any arms shipments to Turkey. France should stand down like the cowards they are. Ok. But anyhow, history refuted his entire argument anyway. And what he is proposing is Sharia Law. And places that have sharia law, aren't nice places (i.e. Iran, Saudi Arabia, etc.)

It's basically a red sack of water right? I'm trying to sort of evaluate (with shear power of the mind) to determine if it really should be in the "two ounces of vegetables and two fruits" zone or in the "drink 2 liters of water a day" zone.
