Multiple Accounts....
I recently discovered that my friend (Shmoop/dmindlin824/olminlin) actually has multiple accounts. In one game, he even played with two of his accounts at once (and still lost...). What would be the appropriate action to take at this point?

question for name on board game for market
Im making a board game for the market and im taking a pole on which name is better. The two names are war of 4 and Generals command. I know you do not know anything about the game. Dont worry about that. The names have hardly anything to do with discribing it anyway. Im just trying to find out which of the two names you like best.

Just want to double check a rule.
If Germany is doing a self bounce such as Hol-Ruhr, Mun-Ruhr
Would a French move of Piccardy supporting the attack into Ruhr from Munich, and at the same time Burgandy-Munich work for France ? Not exactly sure how the attacking your own troops rules works.

Special Rules Gunboat
Inside.

A WTA Gunboat game where the special rules is that draw votes are to be cast anonymously and are non-retractable.

Players will have to send an e-mail to a third party (address to be provided) when they are willing to accept a draw. From there, they cannot "undo" this vote. Players will not be permitted to signal their draw vote with the voting buttons built into the interface. The moderators will force draw the game when all remaining players have voted to draw.

Any interest?

If you plan on doing this, may I suggest you also address the procedure for Cancel and Pause votes.
let's talk about pauses in advance. Otherwise we can go through normal channels like posting to forum or simply voting. Votes of cancel should not be made. I intend ton only allow trustworthy players into the game. In the unlikely event of a cd the game should be cancelled.
What I mean to say is, there will be no need to cancel. If one of the 7 players suddenly vanishes from the site we can assume they are hospitalized and in this case the mods will be asked to cancel the game.

I do not want votes "affecting" the game. This will be a fun experiment in a similar nature of trip's Lusthog Games. Players involved in the 2010 GT final/semi-final will get priority upon registration. As does 2WL.

I'm interested, hopefully I'll be able to afford it.
Would be happy to include you Alex. I am fine with whatever buy-in you would like.

The idea is good players in this game via the password, so bets need not be too high.

I'd be interested - just for a quality gunboat, if you'll have me.

Thanks!
I'd be interested, if I can afford it and if it were also Anon.

Are you planning that players would know how many people had voted to draw but not who had voted or would they not know anything about the draw votes at all?
Nothing about the votes. In all honesty they shouldnt matter. I am going to leave this open for people to express interest.

I'd play, 40 D or lower would be cool. I'm going to need a pause in a few weeks so might as well just wait till beginning of February to start if I'm in. If you find other players, I'll wait till the next one I guess...

Count me in!

Are you playing one, or multiple games, Lando?
jcbryan97 (134 D)

I would try it.
I asked the moderators about one game. Here is what I now propose:

Two games, I will play in one of them. I will also ask one player from the other game to volunteer to be a "contact"

I and this player will be the people to whom the draw votes will be e-mailed. It will be our responsibility to contact a mod about the force draw of the other game.

For the game I will play in, I would like to play against the top rated players who put their names in the hat. For the other game, we can do first come first served or the next 7 players. Up to the others, I suppose.

I'll give this another 24 hours before cutting off registrations.

I'm definitely in. I like adding additional rules to the restrictions of gunboat. I've been toying with the idea of adding formal rules for alliances and stabbing, such as formally proposing alliances and getting to accept/reject those proposals, all done in secret, of course. Say I was France and sent England an alliance proposal in spring 1901 naming my terms, maybe I'd agree to cede him Belgium in a certain year. England could weigh offers for alliances and choose one (or more) with which to formally ally. Nobody other than the two allied countries would know about the agreement, so technically England and Turkey could agree to an alliance if it could benefit them somehow. On the flip side, there would be penalties for breaking an alliance, along the lines of a forced NMR for a whole turn or a certain percentage of units could not move for X number of turns. This may be fun on the Crowded variant as well.

I guess I'm just trying to incorporate Empires in Arms rules into the anonymity and unknown variables of gunboat Diplomacy. Not trying to chance Lando's rules, but I'd like to get something like this going sometime soon.

tl;dr - I'm in.

As it stands there are 12 people. So:

Czech

Game 2:

bosox
jcbryan

Two empty spots - if anyone wants to play in both games that works. Maybe they can be the volunteer for the other game. Or, i'll leave it to the forum.

I just want to re-go over the rules before I set up the game. So I make sure everyone is onboard. But that will come later.

Someone needs to make this a real point. If you want gun control, outspend the NRA and yell louder than them. No real arguing tactics are going to work so let's stoop down to their level.

Gay sensitivity classes in primary school?
I just read a very disturbing article (in Dutch) about gay sensitivity classes in primary school. Isn't this the kind of stuff that you teach your kids at home? "If you're gay, you can just say so, we're all human." You're supposed to know and admit that you're gay when you barely hit puberty? Disturbing.
