I'm sort of of the opinion that the lack of accountability of anonimity (SP, jesus) is problematic. there are certainly things I've said I wish people would forget but nonetheless ive had this same one account for... idk, years

It's ridiculous that a mod would depth charge a thread when we have a goddman mute button.

IMO, Thucy should be docked points and perhaps stripped of mod privileges.

You are not mistaken, I remember several people being warned or punished by the moderators for depth charging the forum. I believe rule number 7. in the rulebook was quoted as forbidding spamming the forum like that.

Damn you Thucy, I was having so much fun trolling TC! And I think I lost a couple macros there.

To be clear, I've only ever docked points for cheating, making cheating accusations, and bumping cheating accusations threads and I've always given warnings before doing so.

We are very careful about assigning mods and take the position seriously. If you are concerned about the actions of one of us, send us an email and it will be looked into.

I haven't been on the site much in the past couple days, so I don't actually know what this is about.

But, depth charging (edi-bombing) is wildly inappropriate and if it's been committed (by anyone) it should be reported.

Well, I'm not going to go through the last 5 pages of threads to guess what happened, but, as I said, if someone is actually concerned about mod abuse, they should email us and explain the situation.

I don't think its a problem. I just think jmo was upset because the SoW threads and other game related threads were being pushed back, but Thucy went back and bumped the recent ones back up.

Hey all; it's true that mods aren't supposed to push threads off or take points for forum behavior.
If there's forum spam then I'll bulk-erase it, or if someone is being gratuitously offensive I'll take care of it, so mods can stick to moderating games (where they do their most difficult and under-appreciated work)

I take responsibility for not having put mod guidelines in place to make the distinctions clearer. (Back when there were 1-2 main mods we could all be on the same page about this stuff just by discussion/example)

The mod team will discuss this and we'll agree on some guidelines and any extra capabilities that are needed but aren't available, and put out a mod guidelines page alongside the rules page.
