I agree that the lyrics may be poetic, but does the song as a whole embody itself as an art? That is where the discrepancy lies. I am fine with it being music as long as it has a sense of belonging...

How does it not change? How does going from rock and roll to metal to grunge not involve change? How does the song not embody itself as an art? Art, as defined by Leo Tolstoy, is a work that creates a connection between the artist and people experiencing the art by evoking emotion. Both of those songs evoke emotion out of me. Wrong. Music has been awful forever. You say that the past was better. Look up the most popular songs of each year for the past decades and say that. Even better, look up the lyrics to Elvis' 'Hounddog' song and tell me that derivative pop music is an invention of the 21st century.

In my opinion all music that can be created is ready to be created. The music hasn't changed, just the people creating it.

The vocals are kinda rough, but the lyrics are heartfelt and it's fantastic from an instrumental standpoint. The last track is probably the best, with the 2nd to last as a close second.

Don't become my grandmother, dude. I was like you for a few years, I only liked classical music. But then I realized how much fucking fun gangsta rap is, and it went from there. Been continuously expanding my musical horizons since.
