I don't think it is PbEM versus this site. I think he wants to do a PbEM game so they can use the world map he linked to instead of the standard map.

You need a GM for that... to collate all the orders.

I play a PbEM game http://www.austerlitzpbem.com/ set in 1808, two turns a month, there is a gm and it's his full time job to collate all the orders so the games cost money (from £2 a turn) 14 nations, more strategy less backstabbing than this game and about 100x more involved. You need to build your infrastructure as well as your armies, diplomacy is done via email and open forum, alliances are made and likely held throughout and games last 2 years on average. Record is 8 years i think. If anyone is interested let me know i'll help you out where possible

I was thinking I could be both a player and the GM since I would not be able to effect the orders just finalize them. Unless someone else wants to be a GM

painting the map to the changes then mailing the map to everyone

In FtF i use a Map from Dip Pouch and use paint to display the map with color; Since the board doesn't change color

Ay, I will change colours for ownership and use simple square/army and rectangle/fleet

c'mon guys, it will be a new adventure. An exciting new chance to show your raw talent for diplomacy.
With all the familiar settings taken away, luck plays less of a part and pure negotiation and tactical and strategic skill take over.

This is because no one will enter knowing who they like to ally with/attack as certain countries and so everything will be up for grabs

We wait, I'm not picky as to when to start sooner or later the slots will be filled...
