This is the sort of behaviour that does deserve a little forum recognition. But his forum actions alone raised red flags for me ages ago.

Submariner's first press to me was mentioning a previous game and that if i didn't submit to him, he was going to attack me. This from the guy who is constantly bitching about other people metagaming! He ended up being wiped out by everyone else cooperating against him while he engaged in a suicide attack against me.

Then one guy asked for a pause because he was going to be gone for a week .. everyone voted for a pause, but submariner refused to, resulting in the guy on vacation going cd with a potential winning position.

Already played a live game with him and, even though he didn't abandon he had a pretty bad atitude because of a stab...

a certain amount of game-etiquette is required, and refusing to pause is something that I really look down on.

No, it is the other way around. All I want is to play some Diplomacy, make a few contributions to the forum and generally enjoy life.

What I will also always do is stand up to abusive players, such as Jacob who began this thread who started swearing at me in the private chat in a game yesterday.

What I will also always do is stand up to cheats who multi-account. Yesterday in another live game, there were 5 players, but one of the other 4 had created to multi accounts to manipulate the game.

The result is that I get trolled relentlessly by those who expect others around them to play the victim or turn a blind eye to their cheating.

In the interests of fairness and dignity howeve, I am nmot afraid of these haters, even though yesterday one of the multi accounters in global chat was threatening to track down my IP address, find me and break my nose, while another made abusive comments about my (late) parents.

I still have the courage to stand up to this, and while this post may well be drowned by the hating trolls out there who think throwing the shit which they are drowning in somehow constitutes a winning argument, it still does make any of them right.

dude, if you want to be taken seriously, then don't go CD and most importantly, do not refuse pauses when people will be gone for a week.

I have to add my support to Jacob's inital post. The live game me, Jacob, and Submariner were all involved in was a live game created at Submariner's suggestion. Submariner posted on here, on the forum, saying he wanted players for a live game with 10 minute turns. Various people joined, and the game got underway.

Later, when Submariner began losing, he refused to finalize in a petty attempt to piss everyone else off.

I am very glad that Jacob, who was polite and sportsmanlike throughout, won the game. And I say that despite the fact that Jacob stabbed me on his way to the win.

I will be avoiding Submariner in all future games, and would advise others to do the same.

No Jamie, that is niot how it went at all. It is not OK for you to say on here that you behaved reasonably when you were an aggressive hating little troll.

The tide had turned on my game long before I withdrew good will from it and left you all hanging for an hour. That was because in every private chat and in the global room you all jumped o the abusice bandwagon that the England player started, just because I kept bouncing him out of Norway.

I got fed up of the constant sledging and I think at that point it is OK for me to withdraw goodwill.

i am afraid to say i must agree. submariner had a really bad attitude in a live game when he started losing. he did not, however, refuse to finalize, to his credit then. i told him in the game i would give him another chance at playing with him again, but after seeing this, i don't think so.

1. You cannot assume that you're always right and everyone should do as you say. People have their own opinions.

2. Refusing to pause (or unpause) is one of the very few things that is NEVER ok. Whatever reasons you might have are void. Don't be a moron and stop doing it or your life-expectancy here won't be good.

3. It is a matter of basic intelligence to realise that if the majority are telling you that you're behaving like a prick the it is YOU that has a problem. Not the other way around :)Perception is more important than reality sometimes - mostly because some of us live in their own universe.

4. Diplomacy is not cricket :)

Actually, I do NOT think it is ok to withdraw for this reason. There are some abusive players; that form of Diplomacy is generally frowned upon. But being abused is not a valid reason to withdraw. We all have a different definition of abuse. If I said 'You really stink at this game', some people would call that abuse.

Actually, 7 year old kids do this on the school yard playing softball. "no batter no batter no batter. move in!" You should be able to handle a little 'sledging'.

I think it was the move Bull Durham with the sledging line 'Got any naked pictures of your wife? Wanna see some?'

I don't think there's any reason talking to sub about his actions, i think any remark not in his favour will be described as 'bullying'. All i know is playing with Sub is exhausting and i'm done with it but i have at least had some interesting games with him.

Hating little troll? If you recall, Sub, in our private chat, I suggested that our argument had got out of hand, I apologised to you, and I suggested that we draw a line under it and try to get along. You responded by continuing to hurl abuse at me, publicly and privately.

I didn't even go into your abusive language in my original post...I simply stuck to the issue of you cheating by not following agreed upon rules.
