You definitely want to join this game
The Battle of Mons Badonicus, 150 buy-in, PPSC. Serious, active players actively recruited. No particular "school" of players sought. Don't expect ultra-stabbing or ultra-loyalty. Just a good, classic game of Diplomacy with PPSC. Come on, you want to deep inside! Those 8 games you're are not enough. They leave you with nothing to do during the last half hour of your work day.

Swapping land
If Piedmont and Tuscany are going to have a head on collision, but piedmont gets convoyed into Tuscany, and the other army just moves via land, do they swap?

Retreat phase question
When during the retreat phase, if there is only one country that has a retreat to order, but they have no where to retreat to, why doesn't the game just move on?

When countries are decided, I am assuming it is random? Just curious as I have or am playing 13 games and haven't been Germany or France yet.

Could a mod please pause this game?
http://phpdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=9767

We're only waiting for Germany to pause, but it seems he's signed off. If you could, that would be great, because it's 1-hour phases.

Face-to-Face Diplomacy
In one of the threads, it said that EdiBirsan might know about places to go for FTF Dip. Is there a directory of this somewhere? Maybe he (or somebody else) happens to know of some in or around Seattle, WA, USA?

Long shot, but worth a try.

Another rules question
What happens if (as in the scenario below) X army attacks a country, and Y army supports X's attack. The attacked country was also supported, so the attack is rebuffed - but X's country also came under attack by a single enemy. X wasn't holding, but rebuffed - does it now count as holding for the purposes of defeating the single army attacking x?

Rules question - attacking/cancelling support
If x army attacks a country, and is supported by y army, but x country also comes under attack, does the attack x is making succeed against a single enemy unit?

Ie if x was supporting and y was attacking, y would lose the support from x - but if x is the one moving to attack, then the support shouldn't be lost?

How will you handle stats from people who have played a low number of games? I would consider someone who has won 50% of 30 games to be a much better player than someone who has only played one game, and won it.

WhiteSammy (132 D)

Lynius it goes by percent although to reduce outliers i think that it would be better for people to really only post if they have a fairly decent amount of game...somewhere around 30ish would probably be the threshold

Does it go by number or by %?
WhiteSammy (132 D)

cgwhite32 also has better draws, in addition to lowest defeats:

Drawn: 13 ( 27% )

PS - I helped give cgwhite 3 of his defeats, nearly half, in our League!! ;-)

...i cant believe that ive survived almost have of my games and ive lost a little under a third
Ivo_ivanov (7545 D)
26 Mar 09 UTC
What is the idea behind this? Survived should be left out maybe? High percentage of survivals is good if the alternative is defeats (elimination) - but not good if the alternative is wins/draws?

Total: Ivo - 166
Playing: Ivo - 9
Defeated: Ivo - 15 (9%)
Won: Rait ( 52% )
Drawn: CgWhite ( 27% )
Survived: WhiteSammy ( 46% )
Ivo_ivanov (7545 D)
26 Mar 09 UTC
Can I suggest an alternative statistic - which looks a bit more straight-forward for me:

Wins: 67 (43%) - highest
Survivals: 142 (91%) - highest
Another winner: 63 (40%) - lowest

Sorry, was lazy to calculate/incorporate the numbers for the other people.
sean (3490 D(B))
26 Mar 09 UTC
yes the "survived" stat can be looked at two ways.
games played/ defeated(lowest) / won / drawn are interesting to know, i think no one will beat you on the number of game played ivo
cgwhite32 (1465 D)
26 Mar 09 UTC
I have the highest draw percentage? Shurley shome mishtake?

I was going quite well on lowest defeated percentage for a while. And as for defeats, it was all down to that crafty Madmarx, otherwise I'd be beating Ivo!

Defeated: TheMasterGamer - 4 (8%)
Won: Rait ( 52% )

It seems TheMasterGamer deserves a place here.

Won: Rait ( 52% )
Drawn: EdiBirisan - 12 ( 63% )
Survived: Stagger - 33 ( 50% )

I did a bit more research - enjoy :)
sean (3490 D(B))
26 Mar 09 UTC
i think the threshold should be at 30 games, ag 7433 has only completed 26. im sure we can find players who are playing more than nine games at once. dangerMouse sure is the leader in terms of games played.
sean (3490 D(B))
26 Mar 09 UTC
i speak too soon.

Total: Keeper0018 total 221!
Playing: Ivo - 9
Defeated: TheMasterGamer - 4 / ag7433 - 2 (8%)
Won: Rait ( 52% )
Drawn: EdiBirisan - 12 ( 63% )
Survived: Stagger - 33 ( 50% )
