Question for mods:
Why is this game "Winning is everything" paused? its still in pre-game with only 4 players signed up - how did that happen?

Hurrah I'm so glad my great-great grandfather rebelled against Mexico so that I can live in Houston. It's a shame they shot him in the Black Bean incident though.

The following accounts have been banned on account of all being the same rabble-rousing miscreant:

Monstrosity

They all belonged to an individual we mods call 'braddles'. You may know him as DanielSan or any of the about 30 accounts he's created so far. As a serial multi accounter this latest spree sees him pretending to be a girl! And actually backing himself up in the forum while pretending not to know himself.

braddles, I used to offer you the chance to continue playing with one account. Not anymore. You are just not welcome here anymore. I don't even want to send you to the other diplomacy websites because I don't even think they deserve such an infestation. What the hell motivates you? You don't get anything out of this? Or is it simply the lack of consequences that make you think... "Hey, why the hell not. It's pretty funny."? Ok, here's some consequences for you. Don't let me feed you to /b/.

Seriously, I know you can be anyone on the internet, but do you really think you can't be found? Anonymity is like plate metal, and the information age is like the advent of gunpowder. Your terrible personality can only hide for so long.

I would like to point out to everyone else that braddles probably accounts for 50-60% of the multiple accounts on phpDip. He doesn't seem to realize that he leaves a very distinct signature either.

Ugh, one of my games it was me and three of his accounts left... That was kind of ridiculous. Especially when two of his accounts accused two OTHER accounts of being multis in another game. Thanks for cleaning that up.

Yeah, it's great to reread the main trouble making threads and noticing all the self supporting going on. It's amusing that both I, Invictus, and many others were defending them... although to be fair, we were really just defending the ideas. I still think amonkeyperson is perpetrating bad sportsmanship with his latest stunt, and I'm sure Invictus still thinks that Kirk is a dick. =)

Hmm... that's really strange that this AngelaMerckel doesn't appear to be connected to 'AngelaMerkel' by IP. It could just be a strange coincidence, but I'll look into it when I wake up tomorrow. =)

Yes, we've been watching Braddles here for some time. To reassure people, we knew about Concorde even before the problems in the area. However, we didn't do anything because at the time he was playing fairly, and who knows - people change.

Thanks, Chris! I always enjoy bashing paranoid people's "evidence" for cheating, and the fewer cheaters there actually are, the more often the lack of evidence will coincide with lack of guilt... which makes me less likely to accidentally defend a real cheater :P.

Oh, good call figle. It's true, figle brought up Concorde back when he hadn't started the other aliases and we decided to let him continue because he didn't appear to be multi accounting. Now that he's officially outed, I can further justify something in the past.

If you'll recall he posted a thread saying he was in the path of the fire that ravaged Victoria, Australia recently. As a result, he asked for all of his games to be paused. Normally we would automatically acquiesce because it would be highly insensitive to refuse such a small demand from someone in such a dire situation. However, figle quickly identified the OP as the infamous braddles, and we had sneaking suspicions that he might just be stirring up ruckus for the sake of stirring up ruckus. Now that I've gathered more information on him, I can say that he was not actually in the path of the fire and was indeed simply stirring up a ruckus. We decided that the best course of action would be to ban and unban him because that freed up his games if he was just being a nuisance but at the same time let him continue to play on the site. In the end, no action was taken and he returned... but I recall that figle got some undeserving flak for what I thought was an extremely good decision.

Wow, I have to apologize to figle if I gave any flak (can't remember if I even posted) as I thought it appeared harsh treatment. Congrats to you for doing what was the fairest thing at the time, without revealing how much of a pain that guy clearly is!

Ichthys, I suppose we could get a permanent ban on the IP... hmm...

Honestly, it was just about 20 minutes of detective work. I get the IP in the Mod CP and run it through a GeoIP app, and a quick google of braddles brought up his myspace profile that checked out with the same location. Then, there's a wealth of info on that. If anyone spent a serious amount of time on it I'm dead sure they could find his address and phone number pretty easily, and order him a couple thousand pizzas or something.

I've heard of pizza spamming used as a revenge before but I've never witnessed it carried out. I think we've had our fun and shouldn't go any further perhaps.

Perhaps you could not ban the IP from the site just ban it from joining games. This thread was so entertaining I want a sequel! :)

aoe3, no just one of his multiple-personalities. I always felt that was really suspicious. I mean, his property was apparently destroyed but he logs back on to php to tell everyone.

Ichthys, yeah it's classic /b/. I wasn't suggesting that we ourselves do it. Moreover, I was making the point that the belief that you're safe behind your keyboard is just an illusion. If you're being a dick, it doesn't matter if you're anonymous or under a pseudonym, you can be found, and you can be punished.

aoe, yeah, it was just Concorde who made that claim. And at the time it was his only active account on the site.

Haha, wow - thanks for the support Chris. Also, don't worry people - I know it seemed logical to criticise my actions :)

I know Kestas is reluctant to IP ban, especially as lots of ISPs give you a different IP when you connect. This means that someone else could get your IP, which is surely unfair!

Cheating is overwhelming on this server.
Just see at this most outrageous example: Ransu karvakuono armeijan harmaissa.
Admins please look at it. Read the messages this guy is sending (to me for example) playing as Russia and Turkey. It is too obvious. It is present in other cases too, this is just an obvious one.

Draw?
How exactly do the points get divided between players if they agree a Draw? Equally or pro-rata according to their number of SC's at the time?
And is this different in a Winner Takes All game compared to a Points per Supply Center game? Would love to hear Game Master's views on this.
