Game Titles
As I peruse other people's games, I've often been amused by game titles. It's a shame we can't see who the clever title authors are. It may not be wise during the game, but it would be cool if it were displayed after the game was over.

SHOCKING new excerpts from Clinton's paid speeches released by Wikileaks reveal that Hillary's...just as boring a speechmaker in private paid speeches as in public ones, I guess?

New Online Diplomacy Podcast!
Some friends of mine from vDip - The Ambassador and Kaner406 - have started up a Diplomacy Podcast focused on the online scene. You can find it here: http://diplomacygames.com/

It's also on iTunes, Overtune and Stitcher (search 'Diplomacy Games'), and should be on Google Play but hasn't appeared there yet for some reason.

It's inspired by DiplomacyCast (if you haven't heard of them, you should check them out here: http://diplomacycast.com/) but is specifically geared towards the online scene, instead of the FTF scene as DipCast is.

I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks captainmeme for the shout out :-)

For webDip aficionados, the podcast aims to focus on the site here. We're all about playing Dip online, so if you find that's enjoyable and relevant for you, you'll probably get a kick out of it.

Please PM me or kaner406 here at webDip, or contact us from the http://www.diplomacygames.com site for suggestions and feedback!

Hi folks, the second episode of Diplomacy Games - a podcast about playing Diplomacy online - is now live at DiplomacyGames.com, iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher and where all good podcasts are pumped out.

This time - for the WebDip crew - we turn Classic on its head with a deep dive into the Fog of War version of Classic. How does game play radically change when all you can see are territories immediately adjacent to your units and SCs. Plus we talk Mods and upcoming developments in the variant space.

Enjoy!

Listening over a pint in a pub here. I feel the need to point out that we intentionally don't use the ancmed army/fleet replacements. Using the same units throughout the site promotes consistency.

But this is great stuff!

In episode 3 we look at the Italian Renaissance variant Rinascimento. What's great about it, what's bad about it, and how based on recent Forum talk it can be improved. Then its onto a game inside a game (how very enigmatic), with the variant Bourse.

Pop over to DiplomacyGames.com or subscribe in iTunes or Stitcher. Don't forget if you like the show give us a rating or review from there too. It really helps.

Only listened to one episode so far, but why is it recorded in a noisey atmosphere? So irritating.
The Ambassador (129 D)
24 Sep 16 UTC
Thanks orathaic for the feedback.

I take on board your comments, but all the PM's we've received to date about the podcast actually really love the atmosphere. It's just a couple of guys catching up in a bar over a few drinks. I've actually had a number of players let me know that it makes them feel like they're in the bar, and they often go and crack open a beer and listen.

We enjoyed having a drink or too and weighed up the risk of it being too noisy in the background. If you thought episode 1 was noisy, wait until you hear episode 2! That said episode 3 has the quietest background so far (ditto ep 4 which hasn't been released yet but was recorded at the same venue.)

I quite enjoy the background. G'day diplomacy with Bruce and Sheila works extremely well. I've not listened to a whole one yet, but as something to put on in the car on the way back from work it's a winner.

Dr Karl's science podcast now has a rival!

Also your audience are clearly cretinous deviants of the worst sort :p

On Social Contracts and Their Existence
It's late where I am and I was thinking about this post:
http://trolleyproblem.blogspot.com/2012/02/why-social-contract-arguments-are.html

So what do y'all think about the social contract and the legitimacy of government? Does it exist? If so to what extent? Please discuss.
