11 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2000: [Pacific-Russia]:Good luck everyone, and may the good Russia win.
11 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2000: [USA]:Hello everyone, let's have a great game! :)
11 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2000: [Western-Canada]:Good luck all.
11 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2000: [Oz]:Good day, cobbers! Greetings from down under. Ozzies rule. Good luck to all.
11 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2000: [Brazil]:A nice collection of great players and famous names...and me. ;)

Good luck all!
11 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2000: [Brazil]:And as we have a bit of a 007 theme going (haven't seen Skyfall yet myself, not a fan of Daniel Craig's Bond, he just doesn't feel very Bond-ish to me...drinking beers and carrying assault rifles...I know the Bond of the books was supposed to be tough and cold, but still, Gold Standard Connery could be cold and he always found a way to have some fun and class, Craig never looks like he's having fun) I'll throw it out there--

Best/Worst Bond movie, in your opinion?

Goldfinger and Goldeneye tie for me as my favorite, both I'd rank Top 5, Goldfinger #1...

Quantum of Solace hands down my least favorite that I've seen, incoherent and choppily edited and...again...Bond's supposed to be tough, but have class as well, NO WAY Connery's Bond or Brosnan's would have force-fed someone motor oil, that's just...half absurd and half just too standard an action hero-schlock move, something far more Bruce Willis than James Bond.
11 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2000: [Pacific-Russia]:Bruce Willis is cool.
11 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2000: [Pacific-Russia]:That said, ofcourse Roger Moore is the best Bond.
11 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2000: [Kenya]:Hey... Hey, USA... Children of my nation dream of becoming your president.... Once immigrating to there, they will forge Hawaiian birth certificates. Then, they will face long trials moving up the political ranks to senator. They will get elected president. This is the critical part: they will get /re-elected/ president. Then they will destroy you! Hahahahaha! Wait, you say that's already happened? Never mind.
11 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2000: [South-Africa]:Craig's Bond didn't force feed Green motor oil. Green drank it himself off screen trying to survive in the desert. Bond just gave it to him to give Green something to drink after he had made it 20 miles in the desert. And it was Quantum who put the bullet in the back of Green's head. M said so herself.

Now, Quantum is a weak entry into the series. It has some great set pieces, but the flow was, as you say, too choppy. But I rank it's opening chase rigfht up with the best of the opening sequences, although TWINE was still my favorite opening of all time.

You must see Skyfall however. It is classic in every respect. He really gets into the role. Pithy one liners, flirting with the female MI6 operative and all. And it has a nice little twist for those of us who have been watching Bond longer than many on this site have been alive.

Favcorite Bond (Actor) - Hard pressed between Connery, Craig, and Dalton. Although Brosnan has one of my favorite movies under his belt (The World Is Not Enough) and Lazenby's sole outing as 007 is a top notch movie in general and in my top 5 Bonds of all time.

Best Bond movie:
1. Goldfinger
2. Casino Royale
3. The World Is Not Enough
4. License to Kill & The Living Daylights (which sort of negates having a number 5, but...)
5. OHMSS, For Your Eyes Only or Skyfall.

Worst Bond overall - Roger Moore. He was just to old to play the part.

Worst Bond Movie - Moonraker - I mean come on! Laser fights in space? Argh!

First Bond ever seen - Either Goldfinger or On Her Majesty's Secret Service. I saw both on TV when ABC showed them split across two nights in the early and mid 70s.

My First Bond In a Theater - The Spy Who Loved Me - I was 11 when it came out.

Best Bond I Viewed In the Theater - Casino Royale (#2 on my list)

And a special honorable mention for all categories must be given to Goldeneye. Brosnan probably did his best version of Bond in it, but it had some plot issues that keep it from being the best ever (like how the fuck did all thsoe Marines end up on Cuban soil at the end?)
11 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2000: [Europe]:WTF!

DAMN EUROPE AGAIN
11 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2000: [Pacific-Russia]:Hey man I live there.
11 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2000: [Europe]:Draugnar knows what my beef with Europe is :-). AKA, my last world game
11 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2000: [Ghana]:Good luck to all and thanks to Draugnar for organizing and setting this up. I know it's a lot of work to put together.
11 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2000: [USA]:Being a big James Bond movies, I do like Daniel Craig, specially after Brosnan's more sci-fi than james bond thing. But my favourite is definitely Roger Moore and Sean Connery. Haven't seen Skyfall, must do when I have the chance.
11 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2000: [Libya]:Here's to a good game, everyone!
11 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2000: [Russia]:Haven't seen all the Bond movies (actually, probably less than 10), but Casino Royale/Daniel Craig are definitely my favorites by a wide margin. CR had a great villain and a cold-bloodedness that perfectly fits my expectations of the genre but the rest of the franchise completely lacks.
11 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2000: [Quebec]:This ought to be fun. Here's to hoping I don't embarrass myself through my utter lack of familiarity with all world game conventions, stalemate lines, and basic strategy. Best of luck, all.
12 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2000: [South-Africa]:So two viewings now and Skyfall is still an awesome 007 flick!
13 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2000: [Kenya]:Hey, hey, Europe! Deadline in 7 hours! Don't forget orders before your bedtime! ;)
