Doesn't that hold only if all 7 players didn't start any other game in the process? Is the GR chipped in when the game starts or when it finishes?

I would take the solo as well.

ulytau, it obviously doesn't hold if players ratings change but the idea is still there.

@Yonni - It absolutely does make a GR difference. If you are playing the exact same players in all three games then the eliminated players will contribute less each game and the ones in the draw or you as solo winner will contribute more (especially as the solo).

It depends very much on the quality of the solo. More often than not my solo's have been the result of gross stupidity on the part of one or more of the other players. The truth is that most of my solos haven't been anywhere near as fun as a hard fought draw. Unless the solo is that rarest of events where worthy opponents are bested in a close fight I would take the 3 draws every time.

Okay so assuming one doesn't care about points or GR, it depends on the draws. If they were a result of stopping solos and required some real effort to pull out then i would go with them. But if they were an easy draw with a triple alliance from the beginning then i would rather solo. Likewise the solo would get extra weight if it required some tricky moves to pull off because others were actually working together to stop me but if in fighting and idiocy prevailed in my opponents then i would put less value in the solo.

And even the defeats have value if the death stopped another solo via self sacrifice instead of dying and seeing someone else solo cause the others were busy fighting amongst themselves.

Solo. A solo is a rare and impressive achievement. Three way draws are pretty common.

A solo is a win. A draw is not a win. I want to win.

IMHO people here are too satisfied with getting a draw.

Says the guy with 4% win to 54% draw. A bit hypocritical perhaps.

Not just that but I've never won a game I started in. My three wins come from CD pickups of large countries.

So believe me, I want to WIN. But I also only play WTA forum invite games and tournament games so haven't had the opportunity to pick up any easy wins from playing PPSC or playing newbies or playing live games.

If getting a solo is such a big event, I see giving up the solo an equally big event so if it's between one solo and two survives or three 3WDs, I'm leaning towards the latter.

@ Ald: Strangely enough I found the Masters Tournament an easier hunting ground for wins and GR than live games. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the challenge offered by the less prestigious games.

I was disappointed by the Masters this time around. Had more quality players the first season.

I'm with Frank & Aldy. Assuming the other players are quality vets, I'll take a win over any number of draws.

I would take win rather than 3 draws in this particular case.

@Octavious - I am fairly certain that live games bring down the GR of anyone who plays them regularly enough.
