The thrill of being able to plan out the entire game and bend 6 other players to your will through a combination of smooth talking and brute force.

The even playing field--essentially, you begin with no power despite your 3 or 4 units. All you have is your word of mouth.

This has fascinated me since I first played it when I was ten years old. I didn't understand the rules completely, but I could understand the importance of my cousin helping me along. It was his cunning plans and 5 minute discussions we had that got me hooked on the game.

I love the fact there's luck (in terms if dice roles) so you've only got yourself to blame when you win. Making deals, stabbing, persuading and the ability to ignore the morals of real life are all very fun

Psychology in chess I would consider guessing moves and personality. Someone's personality makes a huge difference in chess games.

In other words, guessing the other person's strategy. Personallity has nothing to do with a person's gameplay, really. If it does, then that would suggest that I'm a very aggressive person, which I'm not.

at the end when you play through all the plays season year by year and admiring the good diplomacy and stabs of all the players. And mostly yourself if you do win. And admiring the entirety of europe being your countries color.

Test my mettle against other like minded people who enjoy this game.Sometimes it works out and sometimes not.To quote Hannibal from the A Team-"I love it when a plan comes together".Thats what we all strife to achieve.Excuting the perfect plan.
Except when you get some noob/noobs who have no idea WTF there doing.
