I was reading my GameInformer magazine (God of War III!)when I saw woooo comment so I wasn't paying enough attention.

YEA GOD OF WAR 3 IS GONNA KICK ASS. The first two were awesome. Too bad 3 is the last one... supposed to tell you why there are no myths about those gods anymore... but i just wanna finallly kill zues.

to answer your other question monkeyperson, you do not get more points for the PPSC win than you would get for a normal 18 supply solo. The left over points total is divided by the number of supply centres remaining that are not under the victor's control, then split up to each surviving player proportional to the amount of supplies they finished the game with.

I.E. the most points you can get from a solo in a 34 pot PPSC game is 18. Hope that clears things up. It is impressive, however to see those overwhelming victories that sometimes occur.

The main reason people take more than the required number of SCs is to be safe. For example, in your last turn you might have 4 possible moves, and if all of them work out fortuitously you would end up with 21 SCs.
I'm pretty sure it was Wonderllama who took all 34 SCs - the game was quite a long time ago though.

Back in the old days, you had to have 18 units for the game to end. So, if your home SCs were occupied you couldn't build and so the game kept going

I shall look at the dumps I have for Ghost-rating, as they include SC count. That'll have to wait til tomorrow, when I can get to the computer that has them on.

Are you sure that you can only get 18/34 ratio for winning? Recently I got 304pts out of a 548 pot for 19 SCs which corresponds to a 19/34 ratio.

Also, I believe I've noticed that if there are more than 2 players "alive" with reasonable number of SCs the winner does not take over 50% of the pot as they should but only takes 40% (two games with 45 pot I only took 18 pts for winning).

So for those keen on getting more points out of games it's worth your while to knock out players or at the very least completely cripple them to make their share negligible.

Its just the way the division is broken down. You don't get any bonus for overkill. That game with 31 was clearly staged and was a possible multi.

That's wrong. Overkill will of course result in a higher share of the pot in PPSC games. You can easily see that if you look at the source code.

I have won with more than 18 SCs and received more points that just winning w/ 18 would have gotten me. That's kinda the whole point be "Points PER Supply Center".

Also, i've won w/ 19 here and 23 a couple of times on facebook's version.

I think it's been discussed before, that the INTENTION is for 18 out of 34 to be the cap, but that it is not implemented that way yet, it was suppose to come in an upcoming version.

For the time being, PPSC is exactly that, PPSC, so if you have 34, you take the whole pot.

If you had 34 SCs then you would clearly take the whole pot since there would be no one else who could be given the points. The games which were mentioned that were won with 27 points also look staged, particularly 3172
