Convoy question
If an army is being convoyed into territory A by a fleet in sea B and is supported into A by another unit, what happens if a fleet in Territory A is supported into Sea B?

Do they bounce because of equal force, or does the fleet from A dislodge the fleet in B before the convoy is successful?

high-level gunboat - any interest?
I'd like to play a game with, say, folks who are in the top 50 gunboat players according to the ghostratings. Would we be able to put a game together?

British Safe Space
This is a thread for actual English-speakers to show their true colours, away from those bloody Americans.

If you happen to live on the first floor and need take a lift down to the pavement and fetch some aluminium foil from your car boot, this is the thread for you!

Jam then cream or cream then jam?
captainmeme (1632 DMod)

Jam then cream. I have had this discussion with my friends before, and I still don't see how cream then jam could make any sense. You can't spread the jam if it's on cream!

Also I think I can extend this Safe Space's purview to 'Anyone who spells the word colour correctly' rather than 'British'. We're a welcoming safe space :)
LeonWalras (865 D)
21 Jun 17 UTC
I agree, though I've heard if the cream is double clotted (as it should be) cream then jam can work.
captainmeme (1632 DMod)
21 Jun 17 UTC
That's just making the job harder, though. Cream doesn't need to be spread, so putting it on top of jam is fine and easy. Even if you are able to spread jam on cream, it's certainly easier to spread it on the scone, and why make more work for yourself?

It also looks nicer with the cream on top, although obviously that's a more personal judgement.

Leon is right about that clotted cream can be used as foundation for the jam, but personally I put butter first, then jam, and (clotted) cream.

Yesterday I treated myself and watched a DVD of "The importance of being Earnest", with Colin Fifth, Rupert Everett & Dame Judi Dench as Lady Bracknell. Classic Oscar Wilde & wonderfully British.. Yes Oscar Wilde was Irish which partly explains his ability to observe & satarise the British so cleverly.

Ohhh cool so this is a pommy bashing thread. Things like " it's just not cricket chaps " ( it is but we Aussie convicts keep kicking your buttocks).

Inventing Rugby so the kiwis can beat everyone.

Inventing Soccer changing it's name to football and still not winning,

But I must admit to show my true colours ( note correct spelling) that the english did invent Chips ( not fries) real chips...and of course due to there long history of inventing sports they can't play .. Whinging....

They may have invented rain too or is that the scots ??
Smokey Gem (154 D)

hot water in first or milk ( not cream you stupid yanks)

I seem to recall that chips (that is REAL chips) came from Belgium originally. Potatoes weren't really used as a food stuff until Georgian times.

Hot water first, especially with teabags as the milk blocks pores in the filter paper.

Cut the scone in half. Spread jam onto one half. Put cream on the other half. Return the halves together. Simple.

Jamiet - but then you only get one scone. If you cut it in half and put jam and cream on both halves, you get two

Brad, the British would actually be a small providence of Nazi Germany, considering the Russians were knee deep in a bloodbath with the Germans.
Even then all the US did was send over supplies, so if we never rebelled the British would've been a little stronger to take on the Germans. Heck, "America" may have been dragged into the war earlier because the mother country was being attacked.

Does this sound balanced or does it need work? Obviously it doesn't require actual diplomacy but I just wanted to think about the map and how well it correlates to WW1.

Reading about anti-fa and communist resistance in Auschwitz.

Were they culpulable collavorators who didn't do enough to save the many executed? Or did they do as much as anyone could be expected to do in resisting Nazi power and surviving the camp? https://libcom.org/history/life-centurys-midnight
